My wife came up with a good point. We are both on O2 with unlimited minutes to same network. If the Bluetooth range is poor, just hold the button down for 2 seconds, last number redial and off we go talking at any distance whatsoever.

Only problem with that is your phone battery will die very quickly. and as an iphone user mine dies quite quick as it is :D

So unless you can chanrge your phone as you ride?

No need to mate the com system is spot on, also you be locking out anyone trying to contact you both if you go down the phone route.

Feeling that we might have to complain about our BT Next intercom set

Bought it from a bike shop & they fitted it to our helmets (rider & pillion).

It was great for a few rides then started to go wrong & kept switching off & on again several times then stopped working with the sat nav. Shop don't want to give us new ones. They want to sent them to be checked by manufacturers in......Italy!! Then decide to replace them or not. We have only had them about 3 weeks. (Had manager phone me).

Don't think so......not fit for purpose, we can't communicate at all now with them.

i have the scala rider g4. it's been back to be repaired once as it broke. aside from that, i use it daily for radio. i find the radio calms me down while i ride and i don't fly off into a rage with people! I don't listen to my own music while riding, as i tend to get into a zone where i'm probably enjoying myself a bit too much and push a bit hard.

for comms, me and my mate went on a ride all over west yorkshire and they didn't miss a beat. i charge mine around once every 10 days, but i only ride for about an hour and a half a day.

When i got them, there was very little other choice on the market - and i don't like to risk buying unknown chinese stuff, as i always seem to be unlucky and it breaks or is just plain useless!

Still impressed with this unit. Phone calls are crystal clear, wouldn't know it was a helmet system. Battery life is excellent, haven't run out of power yet after 4 hours of constant MP3 use. Recommended.
