Hi everyone, i was hoping someone on the forum would be able to help me out with another problem i am facing...

I managed to lowside my bike in the wet on a track day whilst braking :x , luckily it was at a relatively low speed.

Most of the damage is superficial:

Front fairing - not to bad and i might be able to just touch up

Side fairing

Rear fairing

Both mirrors

Right indicator

Brake leaver

Exhaust is a little scuffed but i will live with that for now.

Im planning on having a good look this weekend and strip off all the broken stuff, want to get the bike back to working order asap for the summer. I don't really want to spend huge amounts on the bike and OEM fairings would cost me £1000 what is just to much TBH... I think as i have destroyed most of the fairing it seems sensible to replace the lot (luckily the tank looks 100%).

The main problem i seem to be facing with regards to the fairings is there seems to be very hard to get hold of my colour fairings with the benched seat. The only ones i have found seem to be for different years to my bike, although the same model.

Do any of you guys/girls know if honda changed the fairings between 2002 and 2010, will any between these years fit my bike as long as it has the same seat type?

I have found the following fairings that match my colour scheme (see attached picture, David silver said it was colour code R127), and i'm leaning towards ABSfairings as i have seen a couple of good reviews.

I have talked to them and they have confirmed they can do the colour scheme even though its not listed on their site i just need to pick one of their fairing types listed, I just want to make sure it will fit first though as they cant confirm it will fit my model...

Also another ebay company, although i'm less keen:

What do you guys think / what would you do?

Thanks for any input in advance :)

Hey,

I saw this post on Twitter and thought that I would just post a quick response sharing my experiences. I don't usually do this but i thought it might help a little! I would absolutely not purchase fairing kits from eBay. I know that you find mixed reviews on them but i would steer very clear of going any where near these kits as you just don't know what going to be the out come purchasing, i have heard that the customer service is appalling and you can never really just speak to someone about your order.

http://shop.absfairings.com/motorcycle_fairings/honda/f4-f4i/04-07-f4i I have got a friend who used these guys before for his ZX-9R and he said that the fairing kit was OK, noting special, the kit fitted well and look nice but it was noting special. Never the less defiantly sufficient for what he needed them for and not bad for the price that he paid.

I however have another friend who used this website http://www.monsterfairings.com He said that the kit was really good, much like the absfairings.com kit fitted extremely well there was no having to alter the kit to fit properly but the paint job on the kit was fantastic, It was extremely glossy and looked fantastic. He was able to convince me buy one of their kits and i have to say it looks fantastic on my bike. The thing that i liked about these guys was that at any point i was able to phone them up and speak to someone who actually spoke my language and i was able to understand. Which gave me a huge amount of confidence in the company.

Hopefully these thoughts have helped you a little bit :) Nice bike BTW looking awesome!!

Thanks for the reply :)

Thanks the bike did look good, its now looking a little more sorry for itself but hoping to bring it back up to a good standard.

Had a look at Monsterfairings and they look good, given them an email to confirm they can do the colour (they don't have it listed). Seems really odd but all the companies i have looked at don't have the the bench seat style my bike has under their 2002 category but instead for later years, not really sure why :? .

May i ask what colour scheme is your bike and how did it tie up to the fuel tank? my bike has the white strip that goes from the fairing and onto the tank and i'm a little worried it wont line up.

Cheers,

Tom

Hey,

No problem, yeah best thing to do is send them an email. They were pretty quick at getting back to me with my enquiry as i wanted the whole fairing kit Matt Black. As the whole kit was Matt Black there wasn't anything that needed aligning up.

Sorry i couldn't help you any more, but I'm sure they will be able to sort you out! Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

Thanks
