Do I need a full driving licence?

I'm 18, had my CBT since.. eh it's in my signiture, can't remember.

When can I do the other stuff to remove the 'L' plates and how much is each test?

+What can I ride after?

you can do the test now - A1. but you will still have to ride a 125 until you're 19. (if you do the test now - you will have to do it again once your 19 assuming you want to move up from a 125)

So you're probably better off waiting until after your 19th birthday - at which point you can do the direct access to the A2 license - which means you can then move up to a bike over 400cc and power between 33hp and 47hp.

this restriction stays in place for 2 years after which you can ride any bike you want.

I think that covers it.

prices vary - so its probably best for you to contact your local schools.

Not so.

A2 license is A2 license with all the restrictions that brings. There is no longer automatic removal of restriction after two years.

You either have to hold A2 license for two years (minimum age 21) before taking A license or I believe at 24 via DAS route.
