northernseoul Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Got my CBT booked in a few weekends' time. Doing the usual research and just discovered I have not a clue where my license counterpart is. I passed 7-odd years ago and lord knows where it is. Spoke to the training people who are doing the CBT who said if it hadn't booked for a Sunday it wouldn't be a problem as they ring the DVLA and do a quick check. If I can't find the counterpart anywhere I will just re-apply and pay the £20 but looking on the back of my photocard license (think back in 2007 I was one of the first to have the photocard - annoying as I wouldn't have needed a f**king counterpart otherwise!) and there are a few codes on the back for categories. One of which is "122" looking this up I can see this allows: 122 - valid on successful completion: Basic Moped Training Course What the hell is this and how is it different from a CBT? Quote
Guest Posted October 28, 2014 Posted October 28, 2014 It used to be the case that if you had a full driving license you could ride a moped.. just go out and buy one, tax and insure it and ride it.but that changed.. the code 122 is basically a provisional moped license. which becomes valid after you have done moped training.. unlike the CBT. (which I believe only lasts 2 years) once you have moped entitlement on your license it lasts forever. Quote
