Guest Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 I've recently had to off my oil cooler to gain access to my headers (sheered bolt from replacing downpipes). Upon screwing everything back in I noticed that one of the bolts was not tightening and would just turn when fully in the hole. This obviously meant that it has been dripping oil while the bike is running. I used some blue Threadlocker the other week and it worked a treat, the bolt tightened perfectly and held there. Recently though it has started dripping again, I tried more threadlocker again but to no avail. When I initially removed the bolts I noticed that one was covered in a white powder, so I suspect someone buggered the threads before and used something on them.Does anyone have any idea what I could do as a fix? Even as a temporary one till I can afford to get it in the shop. Quote
Guest Posted April 9, 2015 Posted April 9, 2015 Initial thoughts are more threadlock + high temp silicone sealant on the outside, around the seal. That may hold it and will come off easily. Quote
