RantMachine Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 As far as I'm aware, the 12 months thing applies to anyone from a NON EU country (for example, my other half can't ride her GS500 at present because she's been here more than a year and not done a DAS yet) whereas people from an EU country have nowt to worry about (such as our German friends, who qualified back home many years ago and can drive whatever they want whenever they want). In fact, we compared licences the other week - mine and the Germans are almost identical while my girlfriends licence is wildly different. Quote
Woodman Posted May 8, 2015 Posted May 8, 2015 https://www.gov.uk/driving-nongb-licencehttps://www.gov.uk/driving-nongb-licenc ... er-countryFrom what I can see even as a uk citizen you will have to pass the GB tests to continue driving /riding in the uk on a non GB licence after 12 months. I think you're not reading this right (first of all there's no reference on UK citizenship)https://www.gov.uk/driving-nongb-licenc ... nomic-area Yeah I think I put any other country and didn't see the eu country option. So really you could actually do the test in spain etc if you were fluent in the language?Probably easier to do the test here than learn a new language Quote
cockercas Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 get the opinion we're not seeing nick again...Seemed abit of a tool anyway. Quote
grunthorpe Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 I did my test in Cyprus and had no road training at all, just had to do a cone slalom and emergency stop, was terrified for my first few rides out but soon settled into it. However I have got plenty of road experience in the car so maybe that helped. The drivers here are all nutters, but I'd say thats done wonders for my hazard awareness! Quote
