Guest Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 Hi, I'm currently 16 years old riding a 50cc Sym Symply 50, I turn 17 this month and am hoping to buy a 125. I've passed my CBT, got a provisional license and got just over a year left on the license. I was wondering what I would have to do when my provisional expires? I'm hoping it's as simple as sending off for a new license but my friends seem to think that I'd have to do a CBT again which to me seems a bit odd.I'm asking this as I'm hoping to buy a good 125 (Peugeot Speedflight 125cc is what I've been looking at recently) and make it last. I love having a 50cc but the speed is problem, I've seen that the Peugeot I've been looking at can top 60 which is ideal! I'm not interested in going any bigger than 125, I'd hope to ride a 125 until I'm around 20 years old then think about a car. So If anyone could briefly explain what I'd have to do once my license expires that would be much appreciated, cheers. Quote
al_stu Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 You have to resit the cbt every two years. So yes they're right, back to cbt again. at least it's only one day and £100 Quote
Arwen Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 You need to redo your CBT, or alternatively you could do your theory test, Mod1 and Mod 2 for around the same price as another CBT. You would get rid of your L plates and start the ball rolling on gaining no claims bonuses on your insurance, as you will then have a full licence. Quote
