Barkingbiker Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 Hi all.I've just been through an operation to fuse the base joint of my right big toe and am horrified that I can't get my bike boots on.Because boots are made to be waterproof they have gussets in them and the foot slides in, bending as it goes. My foot no longer bends and I can't get my Alpinestars Durban adventure boots on. Oh hell!I need to find some boots that I can jam on that have maybe a zip at the back without a gusset and preferably a really stiff sole.Anyone out there been through the same problems? I'd really appreciate some advice....Thanks.Matt - in Dorset Quote
Arwen Posted May 23, 2015 Posted May 23, 2015 If you are finding it really difficult to find boots that fit, I van recommend Altberg boots. I have a pair that were custom made for me and they are excellent. Takes a while for them to be made and you have to go to Yorkshire for them, but they are fantastic. I imaging they should be able to make a boot suitable for you.http://www.altberg.co.uk/ Quote
Barkingbiker Posted May 23, 2015 Author Posted May 23, 2015 Thanks Arwen,I've got an old pair of Altberg mountain boots that I've nearly worn out but ddn'trealise that they made boots to order.Yorkshire's a bit of a trek from Dorset but sounds like a good way to get some boots that fit. Thanks for the info.
