Guest Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 To start off orginally I put another air filter on and there was too much oil getting through so it bogged down in every gear and would backfire. I have put the stock one on and that has sorted but now I faced with another problem. When i hit around 50-55 you can feel the bike start to bog down and wont pull anymore. Its hard to explain. In the lower gears its fine and pulls like a rocket. I have changed some parts though. I have changed the spark plug with an NGK iridium one. Changed the exhaust to a performance one (Exhaust has been on there for a while and the bike was running fine). I am also putting a new CDI on when it arrives I have also recently took the carb off to clean the jets and all that. Also, i had it serviced the other week but i think the garage pulled a fast one and only done a little Things i have tried: Stock air filter (fixed bogging at low gears) Used normal unleaded gas and not high octane Cleaned carb and jets My next try is putting the stock spark plug in and see if there is any difference The exhaust i bought says you dont need to remap or rejet so i haven't. Do i need another jet? Or what is the problem I have no idea why it bogs down at 50-55+ Is it a carb problem?Posted this on another forum as well to get help asap. Don't want to end up back at the garage Quote
soll Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 apply a small amount of choke when running.. if it makes it better your running too lean, if it bogs down even worse your running too rich. Quote

Hi it did make it worse. But i think i found the issue, as its a manual choke i think it is stuck on. So it's having too much petrol coming through and bogging it down? It only starts bogging still at around 55, i tried with a new spark plug which did make it a little better but it does still bog down at higher revs. Going to have to take it to the garage so he can have a look Quote
Fozzie Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Sounds like it's running too rich in higher gears, the exhaust and so on may have affected the fuelling and it took a while for you to notice. As it's in the upper range it sounds like the main jet is too big for the bike Other than that, how is this bike in general to own and ride? They look like a great idea as a commuter.. Quote
