Hi,

have a 125cc Superbyke RFX, its ideal for getting me to and from work and saves me having to use my bigger bike. I think it might be restricted? it has a strange valve on the down pipe. can anyone tell me if this a restrictor and if so can i remove it?

Thanks.

That valve leads to the airbox somwwhere. As the engine is revved , it pulls fresh air in to exhaust to make emissions cleaner (as part of Euro 3 i believe? Or just for it to pass MOT)

My bike has a yamaha engine but i took it off to make the bike a *wee bit* more responsive on throttle lol.

Attach the pipe back or remove it or block it completely. Most MOT testers wont bat an eye lid over that.

I thought it was an EGR valve which reburns exhaust gasses?

Thats for cars lol or 2 stroke bikes
