Is it possible to do a mod1 on your own bike without going via a school, know the mod2 would be more of an issue with insurance etc... But as mod1 off road is this possible?

(obviously bike will be ridden there by a licensed insured rider)

My instructor told me I could have taken all my lessons and both tests on my own bike if I could get it to their premises and I had it insured.

As long as you can prove to the test centre it's taxed, you're insured on it as a learner and (if need be) it's restricted.

Plus you have to do the mod 2 on a bike with similar sized engine and power out put.
