Rieju RS2 Tachometer Cockpit Problem

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

This is my first post so pardon me for any mistakes I will make.

So the problem is that I have bought Rieju RS2 125 Matrix 2006 a week ago, I got it really cheap chence the speedo and the digital display that shows your speed etc seems not to be working correctly.

It does not display anything, and when I unplug the battery and wait around 30 sec and plug it back in i see that the tachometer point is shaking for around 10 sec then the display turns on showing the milage and all (more or less normally) it will stay on for another 30 sec and then completly shut off, if i turn the ignition nothing happens and if i turn the engine on still nothing changes.

Anyone has an idea of what the problem could be?

Everything else works perfectly lights indicators etc the only problem is that whole cockpit, I am tempted to buy a new one however it costs around £180 here in uk and i would rather spend it on my cbt that i am willing to undertake soon.

Any help will be greatly appericated!

Hi, what you have there is a Minarelli /Yamaha YBR 125 engine, the problem with your clocks I think is electrical (of course) , you will need to check the charging line from the stator through the reg/rec to the battery, a flashing speedo and clocks could be the reg/rec going bad ,so check it out with your multi -meter. A bad reg/rec can knacker up your clocks so do the check before you turn it on again.
