tbone.inniss Posted January 5, 2017 Posted January 5, 2017 I'm using Oxford heated gloves and on High setting they are only mildly warm have I done something wrong or is this the way they are meant to be. I was thinking maybe the fuse needs changing for a higher one. ThanksSent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk Quote
JRH Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Changing the fuse will not make the gloves warmer. The fuse is to protect against overloads and short circuits to prevent damage to the wiring etc.If you have a multi meter check that you are getting a full 12volts to the gloves. Quote
tbone.inniss Posted January 6, 2017 Author Posted January 6, 2017 Could it be the voltage regulator as in getting 12 voltsSent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk Quote
JRH Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 If you get 12v at the gloves seems all is OK. Does the voltage rise when the engine is running? Looking at the gloves they are rated at 12watts each. That is not a lot of power, but it seems to be the average for heated gloves so maybe they don't get very hot. As a comparison most heated grips are twice that rating. Quote
tbone.inniss Posted January 6, 2017 Author Posted January 6, 2017 7.6 watts per hand which is strange as they are 12v glovesSent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk Quote
JRH Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 7.6 watts per hand which is strange as they are 12v glovesSent from my HTC One M9 using Tapatalk Watts and volts are 2 different things. They can be 12v and any watts rating. The watts is a measure of power. The more watts the more powerful and the more amps drawn from the system. Checking again the Oxford gloves are 13.5w per pair. My mistake in my last post, thought it was each. Quote
