Ever crave leg-out, dirt-track sliding riding? Here’s your opportunity.

The adrenaline rush of sliding into a dirt corner from over 100 mph is undeniable, yet few riders get the chance to experiment with this aggressive riding style.

No worries. The Royal Enfield Slide School provides the solution with quick three-hour classes for newbies and experienced flat-trackers alike. The steed of choice is a Royal Enfield Himalayan FT 411 with no front brake, of course.

The school returns for its third consecutive year in 2022. There will be 10 sessions, all with established partners American Flat Track (AFT) racer Johnny Lewis and the Moto Academy.

“This is our third year doing the Royal Enfield Slide School,” said Moto Anatomy’s Johnny Lewis in a Royal Enfield press release. “It’s neat that we’ve been able to expand the schools and add new stops. Flat tracking is hugely popular right now, and I love introducing people to the slide technique. It’s always fun to see the look on their faces when it all comes together. The slide is an art, and once you nail it, it’s hard to get away from that feeling!”

The Royal Enfield Slide School will come to new locations during two events: the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally and the Carson City Outlaw Flat Trac race weekend. The series also returns to other notable events across the country, including various stops on the 2022 Progressive American Flat Track Championship schedule.

Each event is priced from $250–$300 per class and is limited to 12 riders per session to ensure hands-on training. The three-hour course distills the fundamentals of sliding techniques used by riders like Lewis in the AFT Championship.

The school’s popularity has grown since launching in 2020, attracting both national and international students: “We’re pushing close to our 400th student this year,” said Lewis. “It’s exciting to reach a milestone like that.”

To date, the 2022 Royal Enfield Slide School schedule features 10 dates in Wisconsin, New York, South Dakota, Nevada, Florida, and Pennsylvania.

“Flat track is a sport that is easy to ride, but hard to master,” said Breeann Poland, marketing and communications lead for Royal Enfield Americas. “Johnny Lewis does a great job of breaking down the steps to learning how to slide the bike into a 180-degree turn, the signature of flat track racing. We’re proud to partner with Johnny for another season of Slide Schools, and we look forward to visiting some new venues in 2022.”

Specific dates and locations are subject to change. For additional information, including how to book your spot, visit Moto Anatomy Slide School.
