How Much Power Does the 2022 MV Agusta Turismo Veloce Lusso Make?

The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce Lusso pairs performance with unique style and touring capability as an attractive middleweight Italian sport-tourer. MV Agusta’s Turismo Veloce lineup is offered in four submodels—the Rosso, Lusso, Lusso SCS, and RC SCS—each with different features to accommodate different riding styles.

Common ground for each model is the 798cc DOHC inline-triple, rated for 110 hp by MV Agusta. Fueling is provided by a Mikuni throttle body with ride-by-wire technology, which includes a comprehensive electronic rider-aid suite. A bidirectional quickshifter rows through the six-speed gearbox.

We placed the Turismo Veloce Lusso on Cycle World’s in-house Dynojet 250i dynamometer, recording horsepower and torque measurements ahead of an upcoming review of the MV Agusta. The inline-triple belted out 96.73 peak horsepower at 11,290 rpm and 53.62 pound-feet of torque at 8,740 rpm. Most remarkable is the Turismo’s tabletop-like flat torque curve, which grazes the threshold of 50 pound-feet from roughly 4,000 rpm without dipping below the same mark until 10,000 rpm. Pair that with a linear power delivery and what you have is a flexible powerplant for nearly every riding scenario.

In comparison to the Yamaha Tracer 9 GT that we last tested on the CW dyno, which is arguably one of the MV Agusta’s most similar-spec and strongest competitors, the Turismo produces similar but lower peak performance than the Yamaha’s 104.2 peak horsepower and 62.2 pound-feet of torque. This is in spite of a displacement disadvantage to the Yamaha’s 890cc inline-triple, but proves itself as an exotic contender in the segment.
