I've had a long term problem with a flashing ECU fault light which appear to have no fault and reset (ignition/throttle) only works for a short time. the flashing fault warning light on dash has a different sequence each time and no identifiable faults.  its been present for 5 years and bike still runs perfectly......any thoughts?

If it's been present for 5 years and the bike is still running fine I'd just carry on ignoring it mate

A small piece of masking tape over said light will stop it.

Perhaps a shorting of the actual led? Bad earth perhaps. That can throw up random problems. Though it's strange it's not displaying a fault code.
