Triumph’s Speed Twin 1200 is epitome of form with function. The modern classic blurs the lines between style and performance. Featuring a 1,200cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crank, tubular steel frame, 43mm inverted Marzocchi fork, twin shocks, Brembo M50 four-piston radial Monoblock calipers, and 17-inch wheels, this roadster is designed for speed. But even motionless, the bike is inspiring. So much so, we declared the Speed Twin as Cycle World’s Best Standard Motorcycle for 2022 and 2023. The 2024 Triumph Speed Twin 1200 is one of the most well-crafted standards on the market.

The double outlet exhaust adds to the Speed Twin’s classic silhouette and creates a harmonic symphony of rumbles and grumbles as it rolls down the road. Full LED lighting gives the Triumph a modern touch with a classic look. Its electronic suite offers three ride modes; Road, Rain, and Sport as well as switchable traction control and switchable ABS. Power is modulated via a ride-by-wire throttle.

Before hitting our in-house Dynojet 250i dynamometer, the 2024 Triumph Speed Twin 1200 weighed 479 pounds on our automotive scales.

On the Cycle World dyno, the roadster produced 92.2 hp at 7,100 rpm and 77.1 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,300 rpm. The abundance of torque and linear power delivery throughout the entire rev range along with its iconic engine pulse make the Triumph Speed Twin 1200 one of the most charismatic standards available.
