Annaconda Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Hi all. As it says in the title, my kick-start has seized on my 1982 XL125. The last time I used the bike, all was well. Since then it has just been sitting the garage. I've cleaned the carb and tank etc but when I came to try and kick it over, the kick start would not move. I assume it's not the engine that has seized as it ran perfectly well when I put it in storage. I say storage, I mean I dumped it in the garage when I got a bigger bike. To my shame, we are talking about 10 years ago that it was started last. Any suggestions as to what the problem may be? Quote
Tinkicker Posted July 25, 2024 Posted July 25, 2024 Take plug out, put bike in second gear and try to push it. If the engine will not turn, it is seized. Try pushing it with clutch in to get some speed and then let clutch out. It may unstick the rings. 1 Quote
