Sam The Man Posted September 26, 2008 Author Posted September 26, 2008 sorry guys and gorls for late reply but my bike is fixed! the jet did the job! Has only cut out once since the new jet...dono why tho Quote
Sam The Man Posted October 5, 2008 Author Posted October 5, 2008 Well....its back to its old tricks again...cutting out sometimes...then sometimes its fine...i just want to sell it at £100 less than i bought it and forget about it. I should haven't taken it back sooner to the shop but i am not sure if it even had a warranty Quote
Bill_on_a_bike Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Can I suggest, seeing as how you have so many variable it seems here that you just put EVERYTHING back to factory settings, jet sizes, new plug, sort your oil screw out properly and start again. It's all well and good trying to get a million miles an hour out of your 50 but it clearly can't cope or something so just go back to basics. Quote

I mean i could just stick to 40 and its ok in its current state. Its just it feels so slow and dangerous in a 50 limit. Well i will see. I could just give it to a gilera dealer for a service Quote
Guest Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Seriously, check your loom as it sounds like your ignition is switching off rather than a carburation problem. If your ignition circuit earths to any metal it will kill the ignition and cut out. It may just need a bit of tape over a bare wire and it could be sorted. I've had this happen on scooters a number of times and it's an easy fix. Quote

Sam The Man Posted October 6, 2008 Author Posted October 6, 2008 Right,I think I will just give it to a gilera dealer to go over it and adjust it and stuff. Thanks guys. I could even try and adjusting the carb as it could be the head or something Quote
Sam The Man Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 well.....................................had another service and look at but the person couldn't find anything! He said it could possible a choke problem. Dam i dont wanna fork out another £60+ for another person to look at. It usually cuts out at about 43 mph...its really strange. When getting up to 40, it feels fineAnyone got any ideasthanks Quote
Rod York Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 1.scumdog said check the wiring- have you done that?2.Bill_on_a_bike suggested putting it back to factory settings- they are there for a reasonthese are your two best options. The wiring will cost you time and get you familiar with your bike. (good thing)The Factory settings return- if purchased from a dealer- the bike should be road legal- You might want to pursue this avenue if the costs get too much.Of course, if your mate has had his fingers in it and he know what he is doing- then he should be able to put it right- If he can't then he might be a little better on the theory front than the practice. These two options are your best. Heed them Quote
