Guest Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 start at the clocks and work your way down the wiring loom, each connector disconnect, squirt with WD40 (mainly concentrate on ignition connectors rather than indicators for example) coat the HT leads in WD40 and check that you have a good connection to your spark plugs. Was it just a bucket of water or did you jet wash it? Guest Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 was just the left over water in bucket also sounds lke it is floded could this be from tryin to start it to much Quote
Guest Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 yup, do you have a fuel tap? if so turn it off and as you thumb the starter give it 1/4 throttle and then no throttle as you come off the start button, once running put the fuel tap on! Quote
Guest Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 ok thanks forgot to mention when it does start it back fires like mad when reving then it wont rev at all then cuts out do you still think i got somthing wet or could it be worse the bike has had previuos probs and was running fine befor i soaked it and has been well maintaned Quote
Guest Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 possibly have a hole in your exahust? but if it is missing then too much fuel will be shoved into the bike and go bang, causing the backfire.... deffo check your HT leads! It was running fine before the wash? Quote
Guest Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 was running mint mate had it up reinworth bypass the day befor hitting 163 Quote
Guest Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 try sorting out the water ingress to the electrics and also adding WD40 to them will help prevent the same happening again hopefully too! Quote
