Ashaman Jay Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 How would I go about debaffling this exhaust?I know some cans have parts that can be unscrewed at the end for taking parts out. Unfortunately mine doesn't. Quote
Guest Posted March 3, 2009 Posted March 3, 2009 How would I go about debaffling this exhaust?I know some cans have parts that can be unscrewed at the end for taking parts out. Unfortunately mine doesn't. have a look round the outside, if it has a removable baffle then it will have a screw, but as its factory and a 125, then i doubt it, my 600 bandit factory exhaust didn't..you could get an aftermarket can to go on instead, but would need to tell your insurance company, BTW engines need backpressure to work, too much restricts the flow, hence restrictors, to little is no good either, so you may find that on small bikes removing the baffles does more harm than good, you get a bit more sound but less power.. jamesw Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 if you have a megaphone style exhaust then i have no idea how to go about it, that's what mine had and i couldn't find any way to debaffle it with out possible trashing the exhaust. what i did was pick up a cheap second hand exaust off ebay which has the screwed in baffle and thne removed it.i've only had it on for a week or so but the sound is absolutely immense (for a 125 ), my neighbours definitely don't like me much. on the down side the bike feels slower and it does pop a lot on the over run. i'm going to pull the plug in a week or so just to check that it's not running overly lean.so if you just tend to pootle round town and want a better sound then go for it, but if you travel on lots of long fast bits of road i'd leave it as is (your ears will love you more ) Quote
jamesw Posted March 4, 2009 Posted March 4, 2009 also meant to say you can get an after market exaust but it comes in at around £250 i think so a little too much. Quote
