I've had this problem. It would seem from what I can make out to be the same as the iPhone camera issue where the bike vibration shakes something and breaks it. I had a Kawasaki Z750 which is renowned for vibrations and mine lasted just a couple of months until this started happening. I gave up trying to debug the issue with Ottocast since they are China-based and replies can take days or even weeks. When I replaced the Z750 with a Versys 1000 it had a mount with rubber dampers and a Garmin mount on top (but no Garmin), I prefer not to be tied to a specific satnav so I bit the bullet and got a second one, not the Ottocast but a cheaper one from Amazon which arrived in exactly the same packaging as the first one. I managed to rig something to mount it using some plastic spacers I got on eBay and and 6 months later it's still working perfectly.
I made the mistake of dismantling the original to see if I could fix the problem but so far I seem to have just made things worse!
Incidentally I did also kill an iPhone camera on the Z750 in the same way... but AppleCare and a QuadLock vibration damping mount did the job and was the inspiration behind the C5 Lite fix.
