Hmm well a bit of a story, Went to the breakers and turns out the part did not fit was the wrong model, went home and sulked for a bit and phoned around getting a few prices. Started getting confused when people were telling me I could not buy the down pipe on its own and must by the can as well. So at risk of sounding like a numpty I said "Are you talking about the 2 into 1 system" they said no 2 into 2, after a slight argument the conversation was ended. Looked into it a bit more turns out it’s an aftermarket part. I did think about calling the lassie back and apologising but realised I no longer had the number. Phoned round for some aftermarket parts and could only buy the down pipe on its own direct from the manufacturer. After this I decided I better not try the repair myself as I do not have a clue. So I got the bit for £52 and put it in to get fixed at the weekend. Wish me luck for getting this sorted quickly and cheaply.

You wont regret it, I am on a restricted licence and have been for 18 months now. have learned alot from it, Quite a few times while i have been out and had a near miss i have thought to myself OHH If i had been on a bigger bike that would have been nasty, I have build up some good experience on the road - (Or so i like to think). But like you I cannot wait to loose the restriction in March. FZR6 here I come.

Right might as well post a list for this then, So far we have decided it will be a ride out from somewhere around Sunderland/Sheilds/Newcastle to Hartside on the 21/09/08 all other details are still to be discussed. Should be a good day. Anyone up for it????

the CB250 range included the CB250N and the Superdream, slight differences, The one from the breakers has a 2 into 1 and so does my bike, Well i supose i will find out on thursday when i go to collect it

Would i be able to use a Honda 250 Superdream downpipe on my honda CB250N if they are from around the same time?? Reason i ask is a phoned my local breakers and they said they dont have a 250N in stock but do have a Superdream.

Anyone mind if we set a date a couple of weeks down the line to give me a change to get my bike sorted. Hows about either the 20th or 21st of September, if we wanted to do a weekday rather than a weekend would be best to do a Thursday afternoon for me (The joys of work) but with enough notice could get a Wednesday off.

Wish i could but have the problems with my bike at the moment.

What will the pace of this ride be, Reason i ask is that i ride a 250 and our lass wants to come as pillion, Can keep up with speedlimits fine but thats about it.

I think the problem was the flooding, My bike burns far too much fuel anyway, Iv been meaning to take it and get the carbs cleaned out and the floats set to stop it running so rich, But its an old bike and wont last much longer i dont think (Espeshaly with me owning it and not knowing sh1t all about bikes) So need to decide if it is worth the money. I went, I checked and it started. You were right the oil had gone round the system so there was non in the sump. Bike started first time like a dream. Must just be me being stupid. Thanks again

I was letting my honda CB250 tick over today as i have not ben out on it in a week or so and it went dead so i started it back up and after a few mins the same thing happened, I thought this was down to the cold, Tried again with some choke and it died and now its not starting at all. You can hear the starter kicking over but nothing it kicking in after that, I have just had the battery replaced. When this happened i checked the oil and the stick was covered from top to bottom so i wiped it clean and diped again and when it came out there was no oil on it, IE No oil in the tank. Are these things linked and have i broken my baby???

Once hit a large white owl in my car, Saw the big splash of feathers behind the car, My girlfriend was asleep at the time, The THUD woke her, She asked what happened i said "nothing" when we got home and out of the car she almost fainted to see part of a very large owl wedged in the bumper of the car, She cried for hours. Oh what fun
