  1. I don't know how long it stood for but the oil has been changed and a new plug just need to order an air filter. The chain looks very good, sprocket looks good too. The exhaust has been sorted. I found out today that the starter motor has given up and that should be the reason It will not start on the button. As for the stickers, I have got other things to do, but sourcing someone who does Motorbike stickers was something for me to do while i am in the house.
  2. Some pics from today - http://i62.tinypic.com/1589p3s.jpg http://i57.tinypic.com/24zhx6t.jpg http://i62.tinypic.com/xd17t.jpg It now idles but will not start on the button, so a good overhaul of the battery to check that. I also am going to order new wiring loom as that seems like the easiest option. All that is left to do are just buying items now - [list=]*Wiring Loom * Wing Mirrors * Front Sprocket Cover * Gear Lever * A Sticker Set
  3. Yes I need to do my cbt, im restoring the bike first and Ive got loads done so far. Will get pics tomorrow. To do - Re-wiring and sort out the no idle problem and its ready for an mot.
  4. Was this or a cb600 both at the £300 mark but can only have a bike if the insurance is cheap, so for now the 50 will do. I'm also 24 so when money allows do my cbt then the DAS.
  5. I was surprised with how big it was. Still sounds like a ped though.
  6. I'm a qualified car mechanic but want to move into the motorbike aspect of repairs, so I went out and bought a cheap little bike and using that as a practice bike, won't be looking at a proper bike until i can afford a ninja 250.
  7. Here are some pics of the bike from the eBay listing, will try and get some when I get a chance - http://i60.tinypic.com/2pzzk0j.jpg http://i58.tinypic.com/1531dgg.jpg It also has 2 brand new continental tires.
  8. At the start of this month I bought my first bike, it needs a bit of work but I'm hoping to use this experience to jump careers into motorbike mechanics. It was a non starter but after opening the carb today and finding blocked jets, then cleaning them, I bumped the bike down a hill 4 times and now it starts. its still cutting out but there is a hole in the exhaust. It needs to be resprayed but will be done. will have pics to follow.
