  1. Check the side stand switch.
  2. When you see the hazard, click, wait 1 second and click again, another second click again - never more than 3 - 4 clicks and jobs a good'un.
  3. Sounds like you were in right lane on a dual carriageway. You should keep left, drivers were undertaking you and he'd be correct to fail you for a basic driving/riding skill.
  4. Passing the car test validates 50cc and perm CBT entitlement until your car licence runs out. If you're riding a 125cc then it's every 2 years until you pass a bike test. Confusing but true, don't think they thought people would keep doing a CBT..........or did they?
  5. There's also a screw (opposite side of the black choke lever) that if adjusted speeds up/slows idle revs
  6. Typhoon water-suit - kept me dry in 10+ downpours so far. Just be prepared to ask workmates to pull it off your shoulders, it sticks to leather.
  7. Try another DAS instructor, just one lesson and see what he/she says......maybe there's an easy fix.
  8. Get the in-laws to help you do some mod 1 stuff on a supermarket car park, this will prove if they like you (you'll get most Mod 1 practice on CBT too). Oh, and get some good waterproofs........gonna piss it down this winter, I can feel it in my bones. And if you fail anything, get it re-booked asap.......I failed Mod 2 twice then never got around to re-booking and CBT/theory/Mod 1 cert ran out! Had to do it all again!
  9. I passed at St Helens, examiner was called Rob, found him to be very fair. Two of us were booked in for the test with me to go second, the way the first guy rode even had me knowing he was going to fail, very hesitant getting up to speed on the way to the test centre he actually failed on a missing lifesaver going back into test centre car park I failed twice in 2010 on what I considered minor things (put me off re-taking for years!), pass rates then were around 45% in general. They now seem more relaxed and pass rates are about 65%.
