Module 2 - members test experiences
Adsh replied to a topic in CBT, Test and Advanced Training Information
Passed Mod 2 with one minor, I was on a different bike than I had spent two days training on, the clutch was barely working and I made the choice to swap the bike out, I was confident but I messed up the first manover by stalling, I had not done it since I started training and was really annoyed with myself. I also forgot that I was leading during the independant riding and was waiting to be told where to go, luckily I don't think he noticed lol. I was sure I failed for the stall but it turned out to be a minor and he was happy. Let's Ride were brilliant throughout my training and could not speak highly enough of them Now I just need to find an affordable 600cc I was looking at the Superbike factory as they do bikes on crappy credit! -

Passed Mod 1 with 0 faults, was a lot easier than I thought. Spent the day training in Wimborne with Lets Ride, they are a great company far better than the company I did my CBT with. Spent the day training before my test at 1330, it was raining heavy all day and I cooked the rear brake and it stopped working altogether the instructions for doing the figure 8 were a bit odd to me we were told the test centre was on a slight hill so we would need to keep the revs up.. this made little sense to me as I was revving to around 4k riding the clutch and using the rear brake constantly. I was struggling with the swerve too hit the cones almost all the time but managed the last 2 apparently I was still too close to them.. When we got to the test centre I was the first of 4 riders to go through it, I didnt really notice that there was a hill and pretty much did it on the clutch with a small amount of gas. I got 59kph on the emergency stop and 56 on the swerve. Passed with no minors the examiner said it was lucky I released the throttle on the swerve as he was getting ready to scoop me up! All in all a good day, the test seemed a bit more mind over matter -
yeah it had an overnight charge, its just not getting charge from the bike I had a look at the part its £20 2nd hand I only need it for another year then I am on to getting a new big bike lol I rode for around 25 mins turned it off and the battery was flat, had to bump start it - the starter button does literally nothing no lights etc
-
I have a new issue I am fairly sure I know what it is.. could someone please confirm or deny its the regulator/rectifier.. No charging on the battery, gone through a brand new bulb in a couple of weeks Battery is around 10 months old I do not have a multimeter to do testing so I thought I would dive in and try solutions lol

All fixed, turns out I neglected the chain and it was that causing the problem, came at a good time in a way as I had to replace the rear tyre sent it into my local shop and it ended up costing me £195 I had the chain and two new sprockets
-
Had the same problem with mine, it was a carb issue I had to take it apart a couple of times give it all a good clean, the jets kept getting blocked. also the spring bit at the top was stuck so I took that apart and cleaned it up runs perfect now

Yeah on engine braking, I can feel it through the foot rests too. its not a very happy bike lol

Good morning, Sorry its been so long since posting you would guys would not believe the poor run of luck I am having right now! Enjoying my bike and I have decided to try and find a cheap 600cc to take my test on Anyway I have another problem with my bike I think it might be gear box related but not 100%, when I am on the throttle it will sporadically make a metallic "ting" it will do it a few times then fly off like it should.. also if I open the throttle and then shut it, you can hear and feel things moving around from what sounds like the gear box. Before I take it off and get cold hands am I looking in the right place? thanks

Hi guys, I am after a new helmet mine is annoying I currently have a Leopard LEO-839 its really noisy when going above 30 and I would like to be able to remove the visor so I can clean it and put wax etc... I am on a tight budget because I have a 9 month old girl and another baby due in 3 weeks !! Anyone know of anything good I could buy? Thanks Ads

I wouldnt go that far, head gasket went on my Impreza.. This is becoming more of a project thread! I have decided to do a bit more tinkering and replace the sprockets and chain, is there any difference in what they do, as I see on fleabay there are ones that are "performance" etc. I have noticed recently in 6th gear my bike slows down, is this common for the cbr125? Thanks again

All sorted an running perfectly again! back to £4 a week in fuel is nice lol although someone tried to kill me last night on the ride home but I guess thats life on two wheels!
-
Thats my next mission for now I am just happy she runs!
-
Success, the dodgy running is sorted and it starts fine to the pin out of the carb and gave it all a clean, i guess it was getting stuck! But.... again 1 solved 1 appears.. its now running at 4k revs on idle, 7 with the choke open
-
I will hold off buying one, going to have another look at it tomorrow as I have brought a new cylinder head rubber I will get some pics of the internals etc tomorrow
-
would it be worth just buying a new carb? I had a look on ebay they seem to be quite rare for my bikes year
-
So, bittersweet news! the bike is running loads better after the fuel change! the bad news is, it struggles to start and if I try to start it with the choke it floods before it is warm if i rev it too much it stalls.... I am going to get the valve clearance done as I guess that could be the problem as I have no idea when it was last done
-
Had another bash at it.tonight, cleaned the carb again small jet was blocked again! Put a new fuel filter coil and air filter still runs bad and i have no idea what to do now! Plug is new clean and fine. When it was running the more revs i gave it the worse it ran. Could it be over fueling or bad fuel?
-
How would I stop it running rich? Im new to bikes
-
Hi Thanks for the reply, the problem came all of a sudden. I cleaned out the pipes and the cylinder is tight the spark plug was bad when I took it out, black all over the end, could it be a bad batch of fuel as it was straight after I filled the bike up? Thanks
-
Hi guys, having an issue with my bike hope someone can help me! Its not running very well at all, like its got a misfire idles like crap and has trouble starting... So far I have cleaned the the carb and the jets one was blocked, replaced the spark plug and still runs crappy I have brought a new air filter coil/lead and fuel filter hopefully that fixes it, am I missing anything else that it could be? Thanks Ads

Good evening, I have encountered my first biking issue I ride around 20 mins to work and my battery would appear to run out every week or so.. i trickle charged it and it fires right up! Did that tonight and started it to make sure all was well, the bike started fine but cut after under reving for a while. Is this because i had the choke closed? I was told i would only need it when its cold! At the weekend i plan to clean the spark plug this weekend on case its that Any advice on what it could be?

Hi guys can anyone help me i would like to remove my visor to clean it and put some products on it. I was thinking of replacing the discs because I dont know if/when they were done so I figure I might as well do it all while I am at it. Is that not the best approach? I have a friend who should hopefully be able to assist with most of the work (hopefully, have not asked) Again thanks for all the advice!
