Fantastic wright up as usual DG. I flew to Poland for the day to visit Auschwitz I, Auschwitz-Monowitz and Auschwitz Birkenau. It's something I think everybody should do, given the opportunity. Even if you have little understanding of the war, these sights allow you to be able to begin to comprehend the atrocities behind it. It's too difficult to put into word's the feeling you get inside when visiting, especially Birkenau. There were people in the group who were unaware of what had happened here, who could sense something uncomfortable even before being told the relevant history.
