  1. Heya. I recently got my new bike ZXR-400 Kawasaki - My bike is the best thing ive ever had ! it's absolutely amazing. And as you all know, new bike deserves new leathers! so i'm currently saving my pennies to buy myself some top notch black leathers. but i need some advise on which to get And i should mention i'm not too fussed about the price, as long as it is very good quality, protection is everything. and at the end of the day, it's something nice to look forward to every week when i add my wages into my "Helmet Fund" or "Boot Fund" hehe Im preferably going for some matching 2 piece leathers and a new helmet, but unsure of which makes to get and so forthe. I'm after the more racing style leathers, with back protector etc. Bike: Kawasaki ZXR-400 - 3,500 Miles http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/3743/dsc00892vg3.jpg http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/dsc00892vg3.jpg/1/w320.png GEAR IVE CHOSEN SO FAR Gloves: Alpinestar 365 Goretex (about 110£) http://img112.imageshack.us/img112/1790/365uw6.jpg http://img112.imageshack.us/img112/365uw6.jpg/1/w260.png Boots: TCX Competizione S Comp S (about £140) http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/6632/largewy6.jpg http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/largewy6.jpg/1/w320.png what do you guys/girls think? 10. Heya, I'm Mike and I'm just wondering what you have reached on a motorbike, wether its on the back, sidecar or driving yourself Please Be Honest:) We know what speed the bikes go Personally, I have been on the back of my mates Suzuki Hayabusa 1200 Turbo down the country lane at 11:30. He took me to 173mph before he had to slow down (because of end of road coming) and to my shock, he was only in 4th gear... and had ALOT left in the throttle, which is just...extreme. This was the first time i had been on the back of a motorcycle, and MY GOD it blew my mind away! It gave me the best feeling, rush of adrenaline I've ever had. That is pretty much why i became a biker myself. the feeling you get when riding a motorbike is something else. The conditions of this were, waiting in the road for 10minutes making sure we had a nice clear road ahead, the weather was calm, not even very dark for once. pretty mild in temperature. the road was nicely tarmacked, no crap on the road which is always nice. The fastest I have been on my new bike ZXR-400 was coming home from swimming about 10pm, tucked myself behind the screen with a nice open road, must be straight for at least 3-4miles. and hit 143MPH before i had to slow down. That was fast enough for me YES I know driving fast is naughty, but hell, you have to try your limits sometime If you could include some information such as Circumstances Bike How You Felt Time Of Day Was It Sensible (in means of the time/road/weather etc) I am not saying you should speed or enforcing speeding Thanks for sharing:) Oh and if you dont want to say, due to maybe someone finding this thread and convicting you for speeding or something haha, then dont worry just use POLL
  11. I Agree, although i appreciate the feedback + honesty! I'm sticking with my decision now to play it safe and ride restricted :]
  12. thanks for the brilliant feedback everyone What I'm Going To Do: Get it restricted at the local garage £174.50 for kit £55.00x2 Labour =/ and live out the 2 years, and just look forward to driving what will be a new bike after the 2 years thanks for the help and guidance. love you all already =p

  16. i really appreciate the feedback i'm really going to take this feedback into account as everyone here has such an amazingly shared experience on bikes Due to this thread. i'm going to get the bike restricted and obide by the law for the 2 years and atleast i have somethnig to look forward to, after taking my restrictor out it will be like a new bike thanks alot, and your right. it is DEFINATELY not worth the risk considering how easy it is to be checked nowadays (type in license plate + see everything about me) thanks alot for the feedback
  17. Hey Guys I'm new here:) I'm just a bit curious on what the effects will be of driving a 63BHP 400CC Motorbike on a restricted license (if caught) Because i have my test in a week or so, and i have purchased my new motorbike Kawazaki ZXR-400 I've had a few quotes of about £230 to restrict my bike, i'm just wondering if its worth while risking it without restricting it Sucks to restrict a bike... What do you guys think? Thanks for taking your time to give me some advise Decision After Thread Discussion : I'm going to get my bike restricted and run it for the time required. keeping to the law, its not worth the risk, and the 2 years will fly by, afterall ive been driving a year now already and it feels like a month or two lol. so im going to keep it restricted and have something to look forward to due - When my restrictor comes out!
