  1. repsol honda tailor made leathers and a bike to match, some decent sidi like boots that actually fit me as i aint got slim itialin feet
  2. might scare our lass and i recon i would overheat. Hope they stretch soon there hurting me nuts a bit, and me corning has gone to shit as all me movements are jerky.
  3. cheers good idea might wait will later once i can close the curtains, just felt wierd riding in em for first time didn't feel comfortable leaning the bike over
  4. Just been out in a new set of one piece leathers, me first pair and as there new and a tight fit they feel quite restrictive, just wondering how many hours riding does it take for them to loosen to your body.
  5. Cheers Plugs are fine and a nice golden brown, all the thermo and rad are good and i got right amount of coolant in according to the nsr forumn they hardly run hot unless theres a problem, i'll give the exhaust a good clean this weekend. Chris
  6. got an nsr 125 and noticed it runs quite cold, most of the engines do, just wondering as heat is the main problem for 2 stroke do you recon i could fit a slightly bigger carb and rejet to get a bit more power Cheers Chris

  9. Just been setting me sky plus for the motogp action, set up to record all practice qualifying and races for 125 and 250 went to find the live race on bbc 2 and it's not on their showing the golf so i presume it'll be the red button to watch it which means i can't record it. Soddin usless BBC
  10. Took the altonator cover off and the red stuff is sealent, and oil has pissed in i think it's the crank case oil seal has gone which aint bad to change i've been told and costs 5 quid
  11. it's a nsr 125 01 plate fox eye uk model, not dropped any gear box oil, it only leaks while engines running it looks maybe like a plug should go in the oval, bloke from the bike shop came round today and he was stumped, looked at all the parts picture and can see no plug around there. Also trying to think of what the red bit in the whole could be. Cleaned it twice and it starts to leak about 2 mins after the engine starts and losing quite a bit of oil out of it Cheers chris
  12. hi all Got a NSR 125 and i've noticed a leak from this hole on the inside of the left hand side crank case. This houses the alternator should there be any gear box oil in there at all. I'm stumped at the moment Cheers chris

  14. If it's in the manual 10 40w is alright then for gearbox only. Ive heard poeple say it before i was just interested as in the bike shop they sold me specific oil at 80w
  15. yeah thats the idle screw, voodoo i heard poeple using 10 40 4 stroke oil in there gear box on another forum, but when i got some gearbox oil from putoline it's 2 stroke gearbox oil but it's 80w, is 40w ok to use
  16. about 1500 but i've got mine set to 1800 just cos it ticks over a lot smoother

I'd say if you pour some gear box oil straight through to rinse as much 2 stroke through as possible, then top it up with gear box oil should be ok, when you took the old spark plug out what did the electrode look like black = too rich, brown = just right adn white = too lean, it can tell you a lot about the health of the bike, i'd set the idle rate again now you have an air filter and new plug, take off the right hand fairing just under the airbox there is an oval whole the idle screw is accressable through this hole, you might want to check these nsr sites http://www.nsr125.com (good site) http://www.nsr125.co.uk (good forum) http://www.125ccsportsbikes.com/forums/ (good forum) alains knows everything to do with nsr's check the sticky threads for links to manuals and guides,
  18. as someone coming back to WSB it was good apart from the first 12 min run cos the graphics on screen showed 1, 11, 12, down to the red 20,21,22, and so on made it hard to work out what was going on high up the table. Also does every one run a 1 lap qualifyer ( ie 3 lap in lap/ qual lap/ in lap). why not run a tyre thats last say 3 consecutive laps so if you bugger up the main lap you can improve on the next 2 before coming in and changing tyres
  19. HI Bikes been running fine then yesterday it cut out as i was pulling away twice (once on a busy roundabout). The bike was idling fine at the stop as i released the clutch the bike stayed at 3000rpm bogging down i opened the throttle to try to power through then it just died down. Paddled to the inside of the r/bout and the bike started fine so i set of again ( thought maybe i had left me foot on back brake or summit stoopid), bike running well again for a couple more miles then did it again, went out for a ride about 7 miles this morning erverything was fine just went to take it out now and it died twice in a rowon me street. Only way i could get it running was get revs upto about 7 or 8 thou and drop the clutch Any ideas anyone. bikes an NSR 125 2 stroke

    cheers confirms what i thought wish they did a haynes manual i looked at the parts diagram but doesn't tell you where things go or what their for. all i can find is a workshop manual for the previous model. New to bikes so just want to make sure before i break it

    Hi all Got a few problems with me nsr 125 2001 Noticed the oil pipe has come off the carb. does this go on the nipple on the side of carb barrell, and is the nipple on the bottom of the float chamber just for draing the carb. Also i got 2 loose pipes coming of the sides of the barell on the carb do these go anywhere or just breathers Also found another loose breather pipe that ends up next to the side stand would this have gone to the nipple on the bottom of the carb. Next is the RC servo ( i think) does anything connect to the bottom of this and if so where does it go Also on full lock the handle bars hit the tank is the supposed to happen or can you adjust them out more. Sorry so many questions just bought me first bike and trying to get it on the road
  22. been looking at nsr and rs. all the 4 stoke cbr look smaller. just trying to weigh up pro's and cons for each.
  23. Still deciding whether to go 4 stroke or 2 stroke on a sports 125. NSR RS CBR YZR type of bikes, heard a lot about 2 stroke reliability and needing engine rebuids. Got experience of rebuilding simple car engines. No experince on bike engines. just wondering whats involved in a typical 2 stroke engine rebuild. I,e is it just a top end rebuild, replace of gaskets or is it down to bottom end with new piston crank. cheers for any info
