Passed Got 4 minors, the were for missing a couple of should checks and indicating off a roundabout too early. But otherwise it was all good so i was out on the new (too me) NC30 last night. Was loving it

Got my test tomorrow morning in Croydon and i just had one question about filtering. I'm guessing that filtering during your test is a no-no but would the examiner be expecting me to do it if the traffic is stationary?

Hi Nikki, I think it's a matter of how confident you feel on a bigger bike. I'm in the same boat as you as i did my CBT a while ago and have been riding round on a Honda CG125. I've just done a days riding round at my local training session on a Kawasaki ER5 where they suggested another 1 day training before Module 1 and then another day before my road test. So adding the day i got on the bike already that#ll be 3 days for me. Personally i was glad to have tried the bigger bike as i think anything less than that would have been a bad idea. For me the bigger bike was completly different than the smaller 125 i'm used to. Best thing is speak to your local centre and see if they will offer a ride assesment and let you know. The one i went to was Bikewize in Cheam, they charged for the days assesment but it also included instruction and they took the cost of the day off my other lessons so i got a day on the bike for free

Thanks for the tips guys. Sounds like they are worth it (Even i they do look ugly as hell!!). Think best thing would be to have a word with my local dealer to see which would fit best etc. Ta

Been struggeling with freezing cold fingers in the mornings and was thinking about getting some handlebar muffs. I've already bought some Alpinestar winter gloves which helped but just delayed the freezing process. Anybody here use any handlebar muffs or are they a bit of a no go?

I did my CBT in some walking boots and wore them until i could afford some proper boots, but bought some Alpinestars with proper protection when i had the money. Felt a bit weird when i first got them but wouldn't wear anything else now. Why not wear some boots to school and keep your trainers in ur bag or locker or something and change there. A mate came off his bike wearing trainers, was doing 30 at the time and trust me you'd never wear them again if you'd seen his feet afterwards!

I tried a few jackets on and settled on a Spidi in the end. Got back prtection, shoulder and elbow protection. Felt quite stiff at the beginning but it either loosened up or i got more used to it, feels fine now. I find whenever i get some new bit of clothing it feels a bit alien to me but then i just get used to it. As long as it actually properly of course

Hi, May be a bit of a stupid question but i'm new to the biking world. One thing i've noticed is the lack of visibility in the rain when the visor gets coated in water. I've got the misting thing sorted with a pinlock insert (possibly the best £15 bit of platic you can buy ) but wanted to know if Rainex or any similar coating can be put on a visor? Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated.
