Any good alternative to chain locks?
Ed Orange replied to Ed Orange's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Cheers, out of interest what size do you have? My backpack has a handy set of clips and straps to attach stuff too (if it won’t go inside) it’s the weight of my chain that is a pain -
Hi all I’m wanting to find a suitable replacement for my chain. It’s heavy and cumbersome and I currently have no luggage space on my bike, which I’m not wanting to change. I nearly always carry my rucksack to take my lunch to work etc, and get the odd bits from the shop. Putting my chain in there is a nightmare. I always use a disc lock and the bike has a datatag too. I’m looking to invest in an alarmed disc lock also because I want a second one anyway. However when going to the shop I’d like to be able to have the bike attached to something, are there any alternatives to a chain for this? Is a d lock any good? Cheers EdO

Lock questions

Hi all, still new to biking so not familiar with some terms etc. I’ve just got my new bike, and my disc lock doesn’t fit the front discs, only the rear. I wanted a second disc lock as it is so not a bother. But I don’t know that will fit the front. The reason my oxford screamer doesn’t fit is the pin is too thick. I’ve checked the specs and it states it’s a 7mm pin, can anyone tell me which dimension this refers too? Width or length? Cheers EdO

Need some advice for luggage
Ed Orange replied to Ed Orange's topic in Clothing, Luggage, Accessories and Security
Good point. I have seen the bags that are designed to be used with locks for helmets. Most of the time I’m going to and from work, sometimes in the city centre. If I was worried I would take the helmet with me, it’s more for convenience. -
Need some advice for luggage

Hi all, This weekend I’m going to be ordering my new bike, and getting shot of the 125. The 125 has a backbox (going with the bike). I’m getting an SV650 they have some luggage options, but I don’t want another box and the tail bag is rated to only carry 2.5kg. I’m wanting to carry my locks in it (chain and disclocks) and maybe some other bits, food drink etc. I don’t have a massive budget and I would also like to leave my helmet with my bike. Are there any good tail packs someone can recommend? Or would a good bag and cargo net be the better option? Cheers EdO -

Hi all, I'm looking at getting some new gear, can someone point me in the direction of some good shops in East Yorkshire? I'm looking for textile ideally. Cheers
