    Do you nod?

    Hey there folks, Just wondering how many of you nod at other bikers when you are out? Paul
  2. I am quite pleased with the Oragon 4k I got. Its a rather decent VGA sized picture. Did well on my snowboarding trip too as its waterproof and looked quite steady as I went 40mph+ strapped to a plank of wood hurtling down the mountain. Only really good in good light though as seems to be the limitation of most head-cams. It's a good amateur option at about £80. If you are looking for a more professional quality you will need to get separates. It's quite hard to get a good idea of the quality of the various cameras when watching videos on the net as the compression algorithms that are used tend to cause them to look worse than they really are.
  3. Hmmmm interesting. You can get PCI phone cards which can be hooked up to a computer that would be running your houses utilities. You could have your house turn your heating on, run a bath and put the kettle on for when you arrive

  5. Hey JTA, It's a qtek 9100. Most headsets done have an answer button though and the ones that do, have the microphone built into the but you have to push to talk which means that you wouldn't be able to push it with it in your helmet. Doh! Cheers. Paul
  6. Hey folks, Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good headset. I have looked all around and the best I can find is a single ear mono headset. I need a push to answer (or voice answer). I also wanted it to be stereo though so I could listen to music on my phone too. Any idea? Thanks! Paul
  7. I gots me one of them a few days back. I don't have much to compair to as I have only really been on a CG125 for the CBT (and a couple of hours on a DT50 some many years ago). I like it. It's a good bike. Has a fuel gauge which is nice, bit quicker than the CG125. You lean a bit more forward on it, just slightly but that's no problem. As it's the best selling 125 I imagine it compairs well! I chose it because it's a 4 stroke and easier to maintain and as there are so many of them, parts should be readily available. Paul.
  8. It's a sliding scale though. You can get ear plugs that only mildly attenuate the sound. Some ear plugs have interchangeable filters so that you can decide when you put them in, how much reduction you want. If you are just going around town use mild and for motorways something stronger. They're not much. £10-£20.
  9. I have just been out on the bike for about an hour and I have been making sure I gear down earlier which seems to have eliminated the problem. I think this is the end of the problem, so thanks for your help folks! Paul
  10. Hmmmmm. interesting... Thanks for your reply bigup. I thought this couldn't have been the problem for a couple of reasons: 1. The bike was still moving and her solution was to move the bike backwards and/or forwards so if this were true it would have resolved itself. 2. It wasn't just when the bike was stopped; I would be riding along squeeze the clutch to gear and there would be no response. Maybe I am not gearing down quick enough when it is reducing in speed? I don't seem to remember it happening when I am gearing up, only gearing down. (although it is hard to remember exactly). So I suppose my questions now is: While I am pootling around town I am trying to keep the bike reving around 5k and let it reduce to 2k before gearing down. Is that too low? Should I completely avoid skipping gears on the way down? like, don't skip from 5th to 2nd or 3rd? Thanks again, Paul
  11. I have spoken to the nearest Honda dealer. They told me that this is normal for a bike, particularly if you have not geared down all the way before stopping. I just need to roll the bike forward or backwards and it will gear again. Is that true? Is that normal? Acually - It is failing to change gear when the bike is still moving. Release the clutch a little bit and it clicks, then the gear can be changed again. Thanks, Paul
  12. Hello Vicki - Have posted a hello About the gearing problem. The clutch engages OK. You can tell because the bike doesn't stall when stopped and can be rolled backwards and forwards. The problem is that the gears sometimes decide not to change when the clutch is engaged. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
  13. Thanks Frankie, Clutch seems to work fine. Doesn't feel like its sticking or anything. How would I recognise the gear rod? Thanks! Paul
  14. Hello folks, I have been having an issue with a new Honda CBR 125. I say new, I mean new to me. The previous owner had left it standing for a few months before I got it. Sometimes (once or twice in a half hour ride) the bike will not change gear. The clutch is in and I am changing the gears but the bike doesn't want to respond. I have found that if I ease out the clutch and then back in again it usually works again then no problem again for a long while. I would be grateful for any ideas on what it could be. Thanks! Lib
