  1. The fog city worked wonders riding in the rain this morning, the rest of my visor was well misted up but I never had to lift it once whilst stopped The glue is a bit rubbish, keeps oming away at the edge tho.
  2. Sorted... Silica gel packs certainly help dry them out and fabreeze gets rid of the worst smell. Best solution came on sunday with a trip to CMC to buy some summer gloves
  3. I just fitted a waterproof accessory socket on the bike and power the iPhone from that anyway.
  4. Will still try out the tomtom of course, but I'm not having any problems with the Navigon. It's plenty quick enough while I've been using it on the bike, and the directions seemed to be timed about right on mine. The postcode only takes the first 4 or 5 characters which is a bit rubbish but for what it cost me I can live with that To use postcode search just press the Enter an Address button and where you type in the city just start typing a postcode instead. HTH. M.
  5. Great , it is Armourflex CE armour Sorted thanks Korben
  6. Tried that didn't find any info. Doesn't have to be the same make, I'll check out a couple of shops online, just wondered who has the best deals on them.
  7. Doesn't seem to say anywhere on the trousers or the knee armour what make it is. I'll look at knox and see if they look similar.
  8. I've been using a demo version, , which of course I am now going to pay for, erm yeah anyway... The software runs perfectly on the iPhone but I did end up adding a 12v accessory socket to the bike to charge the phone. I keep the phone in the clear pocket of a tank bag and the touch screen works through this even in rain, but only with gloves off. The navigation is through clear voice instructions and is very accurate. There's no speed camera alerts but it does warn you if you go over the speed limit. Just using the phones built in GPS it has so far been faster and more accurate than my Tomtom One v3. Navigation is easy with the usual POI's, favourites, home and manual addresses. The one thing lacking is full UK postcodes, it only does the first part, ie s10 2..., then you have to select the right road. For convenience of being on the phone and not having to carry an additional gps then this wins hands down. Eventually I'll try a tomtom rider but for now Navigon Mobilenavigator is highly recommended. Pm me if anyone wants advice on getting the demo of this
  9. I'd buy my DAS and then a bigger bike instead of screaming along on a 125 with L plates.
  10. Just discovered when I turned my trousers inside out to let them air a bit that there are pockets to insert hip armour but none in there. Where's the best place to buy additional armour inserts from these days? It's for a pair of Frank Thomas Aquaforce trousers. There's space for the armour so it may as well be used!
  11. I agree, get some cheapy cheap summer ones! My gloves cost a fiver off the chap I bought the bike off! I've got winter ones from J&S that were £25! J&S has a 20% sale on at the moment, and my mate just bought some decent J&S own brand summer gloves for under £30. It's just knowing what size to get when you buy online. The textile ones I tried on were large but the leather I got are XL.
  12. They're all weather leather ones which might explain it, I'll have to go shopping again but cash is running out.
  13. Every night I turn my textiles inside out and hang them outside to dry, you know how it is in this heat. But what do I do about sweaty gloves... Fabreeze gets rid of the smell but there's nothing worse than putting on damp gloves. Any suggestions?
  14. So far so good with the Q2. I have to say the FM radio is next to useless as there's no rds so most of the time it's dropping in and out of tuning which is so annoying I just don't use it. The iphone as an ipod works a treat now I can charge it from the bike. The worst annoyance though is when the phone rings the headset plays the national anthem. Please don't shoot me for this but for reasons better left unsaid I do not agree with having the royal family and find it really annoying. Anyone know if there is a way to change this?
  15. Just received and installed a FogCity Hyper Optiks insert in my visor. Will give it a try this evening and see if I can, well, see. Typical though as it's light reactive there's no bloody sun today. Will be back to let you know how I get on with it.
  16. I wear a dark textile jacket with vents that are unzipped and the EDZ base layer has made a noticeable difference. It still gets pretty hot, especially when stopped but at least the linings don't stick to my skin any more. Highly recommend long sleeves and full length leggings from EDZ. Nice when you take off your jacket and the breeze makes you feel cold
  17. Was out for over 5 hours Saturday afternoon, although the weather wasn't that hot. The EDZ were really comfortable and you forget you're wearing them. I still got quite warm but they did a great job of keeping the sweat away and stopping me sticking to the liners of my textiles. Had a short run out yesterday in the afternoon sun too and it did make a noticeable difference in keeping me cooler. Will never keep from sweating in the height of summer but they certainly help and are money well spent
  18. Mr M, damn good question. I ordered some EDZ yesterday and the order arrived at work today. Am gonna wear them home tonight and hopefully by the time I get there I'll not be glue to the inside of my textiles. I'm now suffering the same boxer short dilema
  19. You can buy a bike mount for an iPhone but I would be concerned about the vibration killing the iPhone. My solution was a tank bag with a clear top pocket and suprisingly if you take your cloves off you can use the touchscreen through the plastic of the tankbag. The screen on iPhone isn't clear enough in daylight to use as satnav so I use the voice directions through the helmet and it's spot on. Don't like the idea of looking at satnav screen whilst riding.
  20. Am I right in thinking it's the EDZ all season leggings and top on mandp.co.uk for £25.00 each that you wear? Looking for something after a painfully hot ride yesterday to go under my Frank Thomas textiles. Mainly to stop the linings sticking to my skin.
  21. Installed and tested today on the way to work. Worked perfectly And a LOT cheaper than Tomtom will be It has an option for the type of vehicle, including motorbike, and the option to avoid all motorways... perfect for learners. The only downside is that because it's playing the instructions through the MP3 connection of my Scala headset then if I have the radio on it cuts out the MP3, but I can play music and have voice directions on the iPhone so what the hey. All is good now
  22. Considering purchasing Navigon MobileNavigator for iPhone after another member (jackal) pointed it out to me. Has anyone used it yet? It's £37.99 for the UK/IOM/EIR version but goes up to £59.99 after 30th June. Anyone any idea what Tomtom are going to charge for iPhone satnav when they get round to releasing it?
  23. The price goes up to £60 after June 30th! Seriously considering this now, just wish Tomtom would announce a price for their software.
  24. Yeah 3.0 is jailbroken, I've upgraded my phone and have done it and installed the satnav, along with various other things not on itunes store
