  1. Cheers for the replies everyone! I did my mod1 on a Er-5, Is it Wednesday yet?!
  2. mod 1 now passed and mod 2 booked for the 2nd of june! Not long now! (FIngers crossed!)
  3. AS title says i passed my mod 1 on friday lunch time! After the disappointment of my first test - http://www.themotorbikeforum.co.uk/view ... 47&t=30769 I was determined not to mess this one up! Meet my instructor in the morning who was the nuts, I was alittle bit rusty at the start of the lesson but my instructor was awesome and we soon ironed that out.. Had a great ride out to the test center, everything was good. Waited my turn then we started the test.. Everything went well but i wasnt as good as i was on my first test, Not sure why, i think it was because i was thinking about the swerve test and nailing it as i was so annoyed at my two 48kph runs on my first test.. Anyways salom and figures of 8 out of the way (My figures of 8 were VERY wide i have to say!) it was time for the swerve, I rode up to the top of the car park and gunned the throttle, Though the speep trap, swerved the cones then just stopped in the box! It felt fast enough, just had to wait and see, U turn and emergency stop then completed with no problems, Examiner walks over and asks me if i want to follow him off site, park the bike and meet him in the office....He hasnt asked me to do the swerve or the emergency stop again like on the first test..Ive either nailed them or f*cked them up so badly ive instantly failed! So i park up and meet him in the office, Im told ive passed with no minors, 52kph on the swerve and 57kph on the emergency stop..I was over the moon and done a small robot dance there and then in the office! Had 2 be done! GET IN! mod 2 booked now for 2nd of june, Counting down the minutes all ready!
  4. Cheers for the info people, Theres certainly some food for thought, id love to switch schools as im not really happy at the level of training ive been recieving, Problem is ive paid for everything up front allready, d'oh!
  5. no way am i giving up! I was beaten by a lousey 1.2mph on the swerve! Got another test booked but its not till the 21st of May! arrgghhh!!! ive told them tho if theres any cancellations to give me first dibs!
  6. gonna be longer then planned! Failed mod 1! Unhappy days!
  7. thats the thing, there had been no run though of the test etc and the first time i had tried the swerve test was 15 mins before the test on a quiet road! Im so annoyed that everything went so well yet i still failed!, by 2kph! Im even more gutted that i cant get another test untill the end of may! at least i know what to exepect for next time i guess.
  8. i really felt that i speed was good, OH well, not bad for a first practice i guess, Just a shame it was on my test!
  9. £144 - re test fee + lesson beforehand etc etc! soooooooooooooo annoyed because the rest of the test was fine! Just missed out on 1.2mph!
  10. Took my mod 1 today.... Meet up at training school at 730am, Not a good time of the day for me, Jumped on the bike and headed off to the car park for some practice, Man i sucked, Nothing seemed to be happening for me, My clutch control was terrible and i was really learchy. The instructor didnt help either. He was talking to me like i was a 6yr old which really wound me up! We went for a road ride which werent much better, my riding wasnt very confident at all which is a first for me..We pulled up in a quiet road and practiced the swerve test (Which was the first time ive ever tried it and with my test only 15mins away i wasnt that impressed) Long story short we arrive at the test center and check though my paper work, Im told to ride into the test center then my test began... Everything went well, Bike handling fine, Salom no problems, wizz round my figures of 8 which is normally my weakest event so to speak but this time it was all good. Im then sent round the top of the car park for the swerve test. Swerve test completed, though the cones ok and stopped easily in the box. "Good one" i think to myself, U turn next, thats done fine, slow ridings up next, i had been worrying about that one all morning as for some reason i just couldnt do it in the mornings practice, glide though that ok. Next its the emergency stop, once again thats fine, spot on, Im starting to believe in my mind that ive done ok...Im asked to do the swerve test again..which i do spot on. Examiner comes over and asks if i can park the bike and meet him indoors.. So i meet him in the building. In the back of my mind im sure ive passed untill i hear the dreaded words.."Sorry DaddyG but uve failed!" Turns out id failed on speed requirement on the swerve test..First time was 47kph, second 48kph! Other then that i scored no minors and the examiner said everything else was more then fine! ARRGGHHHH i was so angry, infact i still am, im so angry i feel sick! 1.2mph out! Ive booked another test but its not till the end of May! £144 for another test, thats the most expensive 8 mins of my life!
  11. Evening all Just a quick trouser question! I normally wear a 32 inch leg in jeans. When i buy my trousers will i need to get the same length or can you go shorter as they will be tucked into boots! Hope that makes sense Cheers!
  12. Hi all, Quick update, Passed the theory test, got 48 out of 50, chuffed with that, Finished off my CBT on friday and had a great lesson on the 500's. Mod 1 is booked for next tuesday so fingers crossed! 2 down 2 to go!
  13. I'll be up for it if ive passed by then..
  14. Quick update! CBT went well, Although due to lack of instructors to pupils i didnt get to complete the whole road riding section which was abit of a kick to the nuts, Other then that it was a great day, it totaly flew past, wish my day at work went that fast!. Did ok on most things, Took me awhile to get used to the figure of 8's, For awhile i was totally cocking them up, Once i got the hang of them it was ok, The other thing i kept doing was coasting into junctions rather then slipping the clutch. Just need to get rid of that little habit and i should be ok! Theory test this thursday then ive got another lesson on friday which i'll be finishing the cbt road ride then should be jumping onto the 500 to do some prep work for the mod1. Happy days! My only other gripe was the bike we rode, its the chinese knock offs, SYG125's i think. Truely terrible, All in all tho a top day and what awesome weather to spend messing with bikes! Cheers!
