  1. This is possible, however I have never had a problem with this brand of lube, only since saturday it has gotten dry.. normally I check it every week or so to make sure its up to standard in terms of lube but was surprised to find it was dryer than normal. Ill give it a proper good lube up tonight and definitely go for the manual oil method of applying it.. The chain and sprockets are in good shape, the chain is new, only put on 3 months ago, its clean, in good shape and aligned properly and as for the sprockets, the teeth all look as they should, with no nicks or bends. both front and rear. But Ill definitely mention it to the dealer this weekend!
  2. Thank you, thats a big relief.. I was getting really worried it would be something that would cost me dearly! I will still get it checked over but im very glad it could be something minor! And those are very wise words! Bit by bit as they say! Many thanks for all your help!
  3. Ah yeah it sounds like it may very well be the clutch basket then, Do you think its just got some free play? (apologies Im not very good when it comes to the indepth mechanical things quite yet!) But if this is an easy fix Im sure I can do it myself I have booked it in at my local dealer to have a look at this Saturday, but if this is something out of my league, how much does a fix like this cost? And is it okay to keep riding?
  4. Thats the same thing my colleague said it could be, is that something that requires immediate attention? And when the bike is idle there is no sound like that, only when Im mobile and in gear, its mostly heard when I let go of the throttle and let it glide. But it completely goes when I pull the clutch in.
  5. Haha, Ill be taking a look into that! It sounds like a much more accurate way of ensuring its lubed properly!
  6. I use BananaSlip Chain Lube first time its dried up so quickly though.
  7. Will do as soon as Im home from work, that is a good point Ill defo carry on making daily checks! Ill let you know how it goes!
  8. These noises have come out recently, I was aware of it when I happened to be tucked in and let go of the throttle, The only work I did was fill up the fluids, check tyres etc normal TLC. And I had a loose belly fairing but I tightened that up a few days ago. And funny enough.. Ive just gone out and checked the chain... even though I just lubed it 3 days ago on Saturday.. its dry as a bone.. i think that may be the issue or the clutch gasket.. any thoughts on that? Many thanks for your prompt response!
  9. Hi, last night I have noticed a slight rattling sound coming from what appears to be the engine, it can only be heard when riding but its difficult as around 3500RPM the engine noise takes over, but on the road in higher rpm, once I let go of the throttle there is this sound that I can only describe as either rubbing two polished metal sheets together or a loose screw rattling. However, when I pull the clutch in, the noise dissapears? It is as if the vibrations of the bike when it runs are causing it to rattle something or I fear it could either be a bearing or a clutch problem or even a cam tensioner as thats quite common apparently. Any ideas? It is a Kawasaki Ninja 250SL with 5600 miles, 2016. Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated!
  10. One of my friends just sold his Venom, he had the same problem. He kept repainting it with all types of paints he owned it for just under 2 years. He ended up wrapping the entire exhaust with heat tape, which made it look 1000x better as you couldn't see the rust! HOWEVER, the problem with wrapping the exhaust is, that when it gets wet, the water sinks into the wrap, causing it to steam up and sizzle which made me panic riding next to him when theres a cloud of light smoke following the bike (only for the first few minutes of the bike being turned on) Another thing is that this doesnt stop the issue. The rust will still develop, faster than without the wrap however at least you dont have to look at it. This isn't a fix for the problem, think of it as a temporary cosmetic addition. (until either you can get your hands on a new down pipe or even sell it wrapped!)
  11. Thanks Rich, Will do that this weekend! I will probably order the exhaust regardless, and if needed, the downpipe too! How hard was it to weld? if its easy i could give that a go too.
  12. Hello all, I'm looking into getting an exhaust for my bike, in my tastes its not loud enough. Its a 125, (yes i know.. 'it's a 125, it'll sound bad, lawnmower etc.') but i would like to invest into getting one. I dont want to load in too much money into one and therefore thought that just a slip on will do the job. Lextek do a great range of them, however this is where i need help. I know this is just a slip on, meaning no downpipe needed, but how do i know if a 51mm slip-on will fit onto my stock downpipe? or do i, in fact, need to get the lextek-made downpipe for my bike? Many thanks for the help in advance. In case you ask, I'm looking at either the CP1,YP4 or OP5.
  13. UPDATE: My Boss, instead of giving me a christmas bonus has kindly paid for the entire repair and first service. My Christmas has been saved, i am back on the road! Ive ordered some CCTV Cameras, one indoor one outdoor and will be mounting the anchor this weekend! Many thanks for all of your support <3 Ride safe!
  14. I have an intercom inside my helmet, it helps me personally concentrate to listen to music but quietly enough that i can hear whats going on around me. It helps me concentrate and calm down as i struggle with anxiety, sometimes when i do something wrong on the road and get involved in road rage i can really kick off, music helps calm me down. i know it sounds stupid.
  15. Ill go round to my neighbor tonight and query about the footage. Hopefully it catches something as i believe there was a van parked in front of it. Im going to call other shops nearby to see if they get any footage. Anything helps :/
  16. Yeah thats what im thinking and i couldnt agree more.. teenagers are a bunch of animals nowadays.. half of these kids or 'gangsters' are just being influenced by grime music and the 'gang' lifestyle.. what do they get from it? they break a bike apart for pennies, not hundreds.. its so pointless. there are so many big groups and threats im afraid to sometimes ride at night. I always wear a gopro thats on my chin on my helmet in case of these emergencies. I just hate that i am now a target. not only me but my family. my dads left us so i am the only man in the house, and im afraid im not built to handle 4 guys god forbid if they come back again..
  17. Hi, last saturday I had 4 guys try to steal my new bike, i managed to scare them off and they cowered away. one of my neighbours may have a picture or recording from their Ring doorbell, if so, the moped they got away on had no plates. My question being; can the police use the photo or video potentially to track and identify the thieves? there were 2 on moped 2 on foot. meaning they arent far from where i live. and id like to make sure they are off the street permanently as i dont want to live in fear of being robbed/attacked.
  18. The late trauma has kicked in.. i feel like a fool for running out like that at 4 potentially armed robbers. But if i didnt the bike wouldnt be here. I just hate this feeling i have right now, i worked so hard for this bike im only 19, i was saving up to do my A2 license, but thats just going to be a big set back. Stay safe out there boys, thank you all so much for the help and support i truly appreciate it. I hope these little ***** learn their lesson, they might not get caught now but the day that they will will hopefully open their eyes. Its not fair that we work so hard to be able to afford our beloved motorbikes and for some lazy dix to come and steal them because they cannot be arsed to work for it themselves, they just think "hmm why do the work myself when i can steal some one elses." Stay safe.
  19. Many thanks Ian! I had a look at these exact cameras yesterday, i will most likely get one or 2 and hang it up in front of the drive and hook it up to a spare pc i have and just record it on a loop so i can view it in my office. thanks Ian!
  20. This is the part thats going to cost a ton isnt it :/
  21. i know how you feel bro, just happened to me this morning 4 guys on mopeds tried taking it, messed up the whole ignition system and handlebars. Managed to scare them off though luckily, id say dont give up biking, try to find someone that maybe can rent the bike? or get a ground anchor and secure it to that? thats defo what im doing. luckily i have a metal shed that it can fit in.
  22. any recommendation ? im not really good with the whole sizing etc i always have trouble finding whether its 7/8" universal size etc, but this means id have to get new grips too?
  23. Does anyone know a good reliable motorcycle tracker? Im more than likely going to get one. I dont want to risk this again, considering they will come back to finish the job its a good idea..
  24. I wish someone like that existed trying to get hands on cctv from nearby shops.
  25. will look into the ebay bars! And haha i know i know! dont worry im not daft enough to pull a stunt like that! But i will definitely secure the hell out of this bike as soon as its repaired. Im just worried theyll come back, not so much for the bike but just afraid for my family if you understand what i mean.
