  1. Although i understand where you are coming from, my take on it is this: Are you a worse rider after 2 years of riding than you are after you've 1st done your CBT? I appreciate people pick up bad habits (as with any skill) but IMO experience counts for a lot. I learnt more in the 9 months of riding solo (before taking my test) than i did in the 2 hrs of riding round some cones in a car park. It's like someone else said, why aren't they making every road user take refresher courses?
  2. I've always found 2-pieces are strange fitting compared to 1-piece. Usually on me, the jacket is too small & the trousers too big. Yet i bought a 1-piece and it fits perfect. I think (as with most clothing) certain brands are better sized than others - for example Alpinestars stuff is pretty spot on for my shape/size but Teknik is way off. PS of course i suppose you can mix 'n' match with 2-piece as you've done.
  3. Same here. Just something else to go wrong in my case. keith565: i'm wondering if it's a "pretend" one (like the empty alarm boxes you get on houses) so it looks like you have an alarm to put off potential theives? If not, the previous owner must have lost the fob so it's basically just as useful.
  4. Tinted visor for me. I don't ride in the dark so i don't have to think about switching it over. I wear glasses so sunglasses are no good unless i wear contacts (which i don't want to) or buy some prescription sunglasses (which i don't want to do either). I tried those cheap stick on dark visor inserts but didn't like them.
  5. I would say it depends on your definition of "better" as they both have good points and bad points. For example, i would say leathers offer the best protection (well they feel more robust anyway) whereas kevlar/textile stuff is more practical (more comfortable, possibly waterproof, could pass as normal jeans if required etc). It's also usually cheaper than leathers. I have both.
  6. I tend to use fleabay, demon tweeks, b&c express and powerbronze depending on what it is i'm after.
  7. Great thread! PS is it me or does that 4-stroke Derbi GPR125 look absolutely fantastic in black? I'd have loved one of them when i 1st started riding! They don't know they're born these days....etc, etc
  8. This situation actually came up for me a few years ago when i couldn't afford to run both a car and a bike. I picked the car for practical reasons (it can be used safely and comfortably all year round for me). Thankfully now I'm back to both again. I think if i lived somewhere where it was summer all year round then it would be bike, but in the UK def a car.
