Hello there.
I have got a trike project made of Yamaha XJ900 with a rear axle. It happened to me that it started to have a leak from one of the back wheel areas and after inspection the mechanic responded it's a leak from the bearing.
Ok. Just replace the bearing. Sorted. He said he can't identify what kind of bearing it is and it has been a few months like this for some try and error attempts. Perhaps I could get some ideas for him here and I can move this issue forward?
I don't have any model maker papers of this trike to look into unfortunately.
Once running, I can hear it, it doesn't run smoothly. When gear changing it almost stops running [ clutch full on ] or accelerate kinda weird , also [ first almost nothing then power up fast ] Thought exactly about the fuelling.
Hello. Would this be a job for the professional or this is home possible, to be done ( with correct tools ) ? I have watched some youtube.com and doesn't look so complicated, but is it ? We are talking Yamaha XJ900 (1991y). Subject of self improvement in servicing skill to discuss. Thanks.
Actually the battery was kinda good condition (12.4) but after some time of trying it dropped to 11.6-5v so I charged it to 12.5-6v levels. It's basic Halfords motorbike battery but I purchased it brand new together with the motorbike. It stood like three months. I guess to start with the petrol first but will it make it any better on PRIME ? Thanks.
Hello, I'm rookie rider and got it as first motorbike. I bought my Yamaha XJ900 [1991y] early this year and made a few trips [ aprx 400 miles ], then it stood for a few months. Fuel is there [ aprx 33% ] and i have charged battery, it spins but it doesn't make the engine running. What else can be done? Thanks.
