  1. Hi all, How are you? Hope you are having a great weekend Just a little update. My Mod 2 test is next Friday morning. This morning I went for my last training session and I would have failed the test The reason is that, turning right from a 30mph dual way road to a 20mph road, I kind of "sprinted" between a gap left from the oncoming traffic. My instructor said the gap was to small, I should have waited longer, and definaly don't speed to enter a narrow gap, and this is a major fault. Well, lesson learnt and it will be on top of my mind next Friday. The thing is, this morning was a 2 and half hours ride with my instructor, overally I was quite happy, till the point (after 2 hourd and 15 min), I got a couple of minors, especially in 20mph areas. I know that the test is about 45 min, so probably I can keep focusing for the whole of it; This morning happen that, the more I was riding, the more I was getting confident, and I started to take some risk, probably I felt to relaxed and I totally forgot about the test. So after 2 hours and something of riding , I went through the narrow gap in the traffic. Thinking about it now, I wouldn't do it again, it was risky and "dangerous", I mean, I felt I could do it, probably my instructor (and the tester net week) saw it as a too big risk. How you keep the focus on during the ride? I have noticed I became too over confident , and I really would like to avoid this behaviour. Thanks again for your help Giorgio
  2. Hi all, how are you? So it happen that I received my motorbike before I had the driving license(mod 2 test next week). It is chained and covered since about one week ago. By time to time I remove the cover and I sit on it, I push it back and forward in my small front yard. Should I turn the engine on by time to time or better not to? I don't have much space on my front yard to even put it in first gear, but I was wondering if, keeping the engine on few minutes, every couple of days, would be beneficial for the bike, waiting for my first ride, finger cross, at the end of next week. Thanks for your help. Giorgio
  3. Sorry I should have mentioned it: it's a Kawasaki VN900 Classic. In terms of insurance, as I am moving these days, the bike is still in the old bike shed; I'll have to update it once I will get the chain and all the tools I need to lock it properly. What a beaurful bike!
  4. Hi guys, Silly questions, As I don't have my driving license yet (mod 2 test next week), and my bike has been chained and covered since I received it. If the bike is wet because it was raining during a ride, is it still ok to cover it or it must dry before doing it? Thank you
  5. Passed Mod 1 Today!!!!!!!!!! Got one minor, but when I have eared "Well done, you passed", I almost started to cry Mod 2 in about 2 weeks, so I have some times to properly train for it. Have a great weekend Giorgio
  6. Hi all, How are you? My name is Giorgio, I'm 47 years old, and after 20 years of not riding a bike, I went for Das (A license) just at the starting of the Coronavirus lockdown. So, yesterday I had my Mod1 test and I was quite confident to pass, my mock test on Sunday was good. But unfortunately, I started to panic, Foot down od the figure of 8 (lost speed) and not looking over my shoulder before turning for the U-turn. Well, what to say, glad I have found this forum, My mood got much better after starting reading your experiences. In one week I will have a second attempt to the Mod1 test, a bit more training before that, and maybe I will start some meditation lesson to avoiding panicking again next week I will let you know how it goes. Have a greats day Giorgio
