I've got a NextBase 512GW which takes good footage, and has parking mode if you need that. I bought one specifically due to nearly being wiped out several times on South Mimms roundabout on family visits, where clearly any Highway Code rules don't apply. It does make me feel safer. There is also a rear camera now to match this unit.

It's foolish to take any notice of BBC weather as it's usually the complete opposite of what they forecast. Usually they put up icons of rain, sun and cloud to cover themselves for every eventuality, although they are probably not too bad at forecasting what the next couple of hours are going to do. As for wet weather gear, I don't generally ride in enough of it to make a useful comment - but have been caught out in some pretty hefty downpours. My Daytona boots are 100% waterproof, I have several textile jackets (a girl can never have too many) including IXS and Furygan and they have all kept me dry. But talking about persistent pouring rain for hours on end I suspect there aren't many that would stay bone dry - however friends who do ride in all weathers tend to rate Halvarssons.

Sometimes no matter what you do (by the book) there will be impatient people who can't wait to get past and/or aren't reading the road. I've turned off a roundabout, in the correct lane, only for a car (in the wrong lane) to swerve right INTO my lane beside me while I was still in it! My only chance of avoiding an impact was to shoot forwards and go into the left lane which thankfully did not have a vehicle to the side of me. You can't prepare for these kind of moments. But in general the more you ride the more you will become aware of what to look out for and can avoid most things . I ride like a granny (because I am one ) but not too slow because after all I am SuperNanny

Mostly all of Wales! If you don't want to go too far north there is the Brecon Beacons, Elan Valley (mid Wales), and if you are adventurous to go a bit farther, Lakes Bala and Vyrnwy have some stunning scenery and brilliant roads . And of course a great biking cafe at the Ponderosa (Horseshoe Pass nr Llangollen).

Thanks all, the disc is being replaced under warranty (again!) and when I feel the disc after riding it is not hot. I have no idea what is causing this as many other Scrambler owners are having the same problem. It's a Brembo disc so if it happened again I wouldn't know what to replace it with?!

I've had my Scrambler over a year now and done 8000 miles on it. At 3300 miles I had to have the front brake disc replaced under warranty for warping, apparently a few other Scrambler owners had the same problem. The dealers also replaced the pads. The front disc is 330mm semi floating with 4 piston Brembo calliper (whatever that is lol). Now the replaced disc is also starting to pulsate and looks like it will be another warranty claim. I've asked the dealer if he thinks the disc is budget or inferior components but he said not in his opinion (a new one is about £200!). I am definitely not heavy handed and use mostly gears and engine braking, and am very light on the brakes. Does anyone know why this may be happening?
