  1. 241 again for me please, reuse the laminate, save the planet.
  2. Unfortunately we didnt get to do our lake district and wales trips this year due to the bad weather but here are the rest of the pics we did manage to get. Thanks as always to the organisers for their hard work sorting this out every year and well done to everybody who took part. Merry Christmas to all. east and west midlands
  3. My street triple did this, a new battery fixed it. Even though the battery tested fine, it didn't have enough power to crank the starter motor fast enough to start the bike. My battery was 5 years old though. I think some triumphs have weak starter motors that get high resistance when they're hot which was causing my problem. £35 for a new battery was the first and cheapest option. What actually happens when you press the starter?
  4. fairy liquid or furniture polish to buff your visor with helps rain and dirt bead off easier. You can also get things that fit on your glove finger to clean your visor, or buy gloves with intergrated wipers on, Or you can fit something to your bars to use to wipe your visor clean.
  5. I had a similar dilemma last year and after riding both str675 and mt-09sp on test rides a few times i chose the street. The MT09 was a nice bike but you need the sp version to get half desent suspension which adds more cost to it plus the street has better build quality and i found it nicer to ride. The mt09 does have a nice upright seating position though. If you can afford it the 765 is even better than the 675 but i just couldnt afford it.
  6. Probably not fitting right, if there is any gap around the seal it wont work properly.
  7. Ive got one of those gel seat topper things that straps to the top of your seat. I didnt like it, you dont feel connected to the bike its like you're sitting on a water bed. Im in the process of buying a spare seat base to build a custom gel seat with it which should be a lot better. Just looked at those airhawks HOWMUCH!!! just for some oversized bubblewrap, i think it would have the same problem with not feeling connected to the bike as you would be sitting on a cushion of air bobbing around. Might be alright if you just plod around on a cruiser though.
  8. Google uses its Internet search technology to serve advertisements based on website content, the user's geographical location, and other factors.
  9. Yale alarm system uses wireless motion sensors and trip switches and also rings up to three people if you link it to your phone line. Cheap too.
  10. It will have large washers between the airbox and carbs, inside the rubbers. Just take them out. My ex500 had them when i bought it the bike wouldnt go over 90mph and had no power band. Much nicer when they were out.
  11. Ive had heavier pillions and its not bothered me but im a 14stone 6 foot guy, if you're quite short and lean you might have problems. You'll probably need to aim your headlight down a bit too.
  12. I wouldn't bother with anything less than a 19mm almax or pragmasis chain, a torc ground anchor and a abloy 362 padlock, this will stop all but the professionals taking your bike.
  13. Its actually a pretty easy job, if you have a fitting tool and a chain breaker, dremel, angle grinder etc... You could probably buy all the kit for the same price as a garage would charge to fit a chain.
  14. Dont forget to get chain fitting tool too if you haven't got one. did make their tool or get a whale tool.
  15. Mandp always screw up my orders so i dont recommend them at all. They sent one order out wrong 3 times. Useless company and if you complain or leave them bad feedback they block you from trading with them on ebay. DID make great chains, make sure you get an x ring chain or at least an o ring one, and make sure you get good steel sprockets not alu.
  16. cheaper than a vasectomy
  17. Tilt the bike towards you on the side stand to lift the rear wheel off the ground, the wheel should spin round fairly freely, if it doesn't you may have fitted the spacers incorrectly or forgot to put them in. It could also be the piston sticking so i would give it a clean. Pump the piston out a bit and clean it up, then put some red rubber grease around it and push it back in. Pump it out and in a few times, if it isnt possible to push it back in with just thumb pressure i recommend pumping the piston all the way out and removing the seals and cleaning behind them and then putting it back together. If it still wont go in and out freely you need to fit new seals. Make sure you protect your bike from brake fluid while working on it, and i recommend brake cleaner to clean the calliper and pistons.
