Guest Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Hey allEver since I've had a bike I ride it into my garage in my back garden, and have to back it all the way to the front drive before riding off in the morning. This is a bit of a pain, takes a bit of concentration early in the morning, and have nearly dropped her a couple of times due to rushing or whatever.I've come across this http://www.mandp.co.uk/productInfo.aspx?catRef=567198Anyone ever used it? Has any advice? It seems as if you can ride straight on, put the side stand down and then manouvre the whole bike. This would be quite useful in the garage for getting the bike ready for the morning, and also for general farting about when in the garage. This seems to be one of the better types... the movers for just one wheel, that look that little trollies, look pretty dangerous to me!Cheers,Rick. Quote
rennie Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 i've never tried one of them mover things!you can spin bike on sidestand if you're brave!, i don't do it often! i do it the other way round!, i back my bike down the driveand into the garage, then ride it out Quote
Pete Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 Bit too pricey for me! I'd rather live with the ball ache of negotiating the driveway! Quote
Guest Mr Miller Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I just wish I had a drive and a garage Quote
Pete Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 You do have a home, don't you Mr M? I don't want to come round for tea otherwise... Quote
Guest Mr Miller Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I have a humble cave. It's not much but I call it home.I'll collect some more rain water and put an extra stick on the fire and I'll have you a warm drink in about half an hour. Can you bring your own tea bag? The ones I've been re-using are nearly out of flavour!.......to be honest, they were on their last legs when I found them! It's great living near a landfill! Quote
Guest Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 I used to turn it on the side stand... nearly came a cropper a few times I know its a quite expensive, but its cheap compared to the cost of me dropping the bike! Quote
Guest Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 sure I've seen them for a single wheel ..... like a dish with ball bearings. so you can put rear wheel onto it and slide it round. Much smaller .... Quote
Guest Posted September 23, 2009 Posted September 23, 2009 i've seen the centrestand ones, tried to get someone to pull me round the shop, then realised the brake was on.. but i back my bike into my yard, and then ride it out.. Quote
tony-1977 Posted September 24, 2009 Posted September 24, 2009 My drive is long enough for 5 big cars, and only just wide enough. Impossible to turn the bike on the drive. I back the bike all the way up the drive and into the garage. Gives a nice easy ride-out in the morning Quote
Colin the Bear Posted September 26, 2009 Posted September 26, 2009 A lot of money for what it is.A bike lift might be more versatile, and cheaper.http://www.mandp.co.uk/productInfo.aspx?catRef=567180Do you have a centre stand? Can you get one and fit it?http://www.driveawaymat.co.uk/7.html Quote
