And thank your mate too, top fellas , honestly do appreciate the help given by everyone, some top tips there and i have now ordered a new rad cap to be 100% sure and if this does not cure it im looking at HG/crack, Heres hoping for a faulty rad cap eh? tony-1977 Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 You shouldn't run plain water as a coolant. 50/50 water and antifreeze. Coolant. Even in summer. Allsorts of problems with plain water, including overheating.If bleeding is not your problem you may well have a damaged head gasket. You don't allways get an oil coolant mix. It depends where the damage is. Compression may be getting past the gasket and blowing the coolant out. I would bet my life that this is the problem. Just seen this thread now, and though "Head Gasket" when I saw the first post, before I read on. The oil and water can be kept separate when a head gasket fails, as Colin said. Quote
