Chris - Seriously appreciate that mate. :cheers: And thank your mate too, top fellas 8-) , honestly do appreciate the help given by everyone, some top tips there and i have now ordered a new rad cap to be 100% sure and if this does not cure it im looking at HG/crack, Heres hoping for a faulty rad cap eh? :mrgreen: :cheers: Will keep you posted

i have avery similar problem on my gpz500 :) i got some things to look out at now!


(im thinkin mine is a HG tho lmao, lucky for me i know someone who can do it for me, costing me only the gasket set :) (and a pint, yipeee)

You shouldn't run plain water as a coolant. 50/50 water and antifreeze. Coolant. Even in summer. Allsorts of problems with plain water, including overheating.


If bleeding is not your problem you may well have a damaged head gasket. You don't allways get an oil coolant mix. It depends where the damage is. Compression may be getting past the gasket and blowing the coolant out. 8-)

 


I would bet my life that this is the problem. Just seen this thread now, and though "Head Gasket" when I saw the first post, before I read on. The oil and water can be kept separate when a head gasket fails, as Colin said.
