Stumped!

Throttle cable changed (by me dad) but we have hit a problem. He says there is about a 2inch too much freeplay with the cable.

Now:

1) cables are the same length

2) been routed where the other one is

We just dont know where the extra bit has come from.

Any ideas?

Also any idea on if there is a throttle switch housing diagram available? cant find one as of yet.

Was the other one routed correctly in the first place? (if you happen to have a dealership around the corner selling a GPZ it may be worth discretely checking how the cable is routed on their bike?)

the throttle end should have no problems, its feeded through the metal tubes and into the switch body.

the carb end i'd suggest is the problem, in addition to the holder for the inner cable, there is a clamp for the outer.. (outer plastic). if this isn't secure the outer will slide intead of the inner..

the cable can be adjusted at both ends..

see your haynes manual for more info and pics.

right we found the problem :/

Basically dad took them and measured each bit otgether to make sure... cable is about a half a inch to long (ok this is theadjustment, why we thought nothing of it :/)

but the cable sleeve is a half ainch too short, making it too much cable.

Gonna have a wording with Wemoto to see if they sent the wrong cable out. :/ maybe theygave me the deaccelerator by accident?

Thanks guys :)
