Turns out a bandit 12 is harder to tame then a 6

=>33BHP kit fitted

=>Mixture reset

=>Carburettors balanced

=>Valves checked

=>Serviced

However:

> Engine sounds like its deciding if it wants to drop a cylinder

> Sounds rough, much like an old man would after smoking 50 a day

I'm popping to garage tomorrow but want an idea of what could be wrong as i hate garage bullshit :)

Whats wrong ?

1200

600 IL4's are about the limit to restricting, anything bigger would run really crap IMO. :?

I ride with a mate who's got a Bandit 1200 which has only just been de-restricted so it can definitely be done. IMO:

=>33BHP kit fitted - obviously needs to be done

=>Mixture reset - normal

=>Carburettors balanced - normal and good to do this every now and then anyway

=>Valves checked - nothing to do with restricting, but should be part of a major service

=>Serviced - again nothing to do with restricting, but if it's time to do it then do it!

And as for these:

> Engine sounds like its deciding if it wants to drop a cylinder - bummer

> Sounds rough, much like an old man would after smoking 50 a day - damn

That's my 2 cents!

turns out the throttle roll restrictors were not allowing the sliders to open far past the pilot jet :(

never dealt with restrictors, but you got it sorted now??

FI are getting a call from the garage who fitted them saying they do not work and are un-fit for purpose but other then that i dunno, the bike runs good and is much nicer without them in, or thats what the garage have said, i aint got it back yet, so all the problem was the stupid restrictors :(

Best thing to do it get the 600 bandit, would restrict much nicer and not so heavy!

theres not so much weight difference between the six and the twelve...

600 weighs in at 208kg

1200 weighs in at 220kg,

so a 12k difference, and as you have a bike why change to another...
