If full car licence able to ride scooter 50 cc

if not you need provisional licence and you have to pass a cbt around £120 then you will be able to ride a upto a 125cc and there are still restrictions like brake horse power l plates must be used not allowed on motorways no pillions if I've missed anything there will be plenty info on here or some kind people will post to

Well;

1. Provisional License (£50) - forms available from the post office

2. CBT course (costs between £80-£120) - use google to find a place near you

3. Insurance

4. L plates

5. Helmet

:)

As satnav said, you will not be allowed the following;

1. to ride a bike bigger than 125cc (or 50cc if you are 16)

2. to carry passengers

3. to use the motorways

If you hold a full car licence then check to make sure you have provisional motorcycle entitlement.

On the front of the photo card part of the licence at the bottom you should have (P) which gives you 50cc entitlement

& on the paper part you should have (A) which gives you up to 125cc entitlement.

If you have to apply for a provisional licence it will come with motorcycle provisional entitlement included.

As above - you can ride it for up to 2 years on L plates, once you've done your CBT and provided it's no more than 125cc. However, you'd be a fool not to plan to do some proper training and take your test; after all, the whole point of the test is to help assure your safety and competence.

Find out where your nearest test centre is, and see if there's a school based nearby. Give them a call, they'll get asked questions like this all the time.

You might think about protective clothing beyond just a helmet too. Personally I wouldn't want to come off any bike and slide down the road without my leathers...
