JoshTimmins Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 For the past few days i have gone to start the bike and it will not stay ticked over with the fuel tap set to ON.. now set to RESERVE and it does. But when the fuel tap is set to ON, i can rev, but it will just die once i stop. This is the same with the choke, will work with reserve but not on.Just to make it worse, on way home tonite, and along the motorway lost revs.. pulled up on hard shoulder, few quick blurts of the throttle and it was working again.Fuel line blocked ? Carbs need a clean? im not sure :/ Thanks Josh Quote

Guest Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 when did you last fill up??there is only one line, the tap changes the feed, main/reserve. might need to remove tank and take out tap, new gasket required..... clean tap and refit.. Quote
iMIKE.RD.125.LC.MK2 Posted February 8, 2010 Posted February 8, 2010 you may have an airlock in your filter Quote

Chrissb6 Posted February 9, 2010 Posted February 9, 2010 Hi, it looks like the run position of your fuel tap is blocked or partially blocked. On the inlet side of fuel tap which is inside the fuel tank there should be strainers – filters these could be silted up. I’ve seen these choked with flakes of paint and grit, going on the age of your bike this is a strong possibility.I would suggest you drain the tank and remove the tap. Give it a good clean and then connect a piece of fuel line to the tap and the other end to a air line and give it a good blow through, you don’t need very high pressure, a hand pump might just do, switch the valve to all its position to check the function of the valve including the closed position, check all’s well before you re assemble. Would strongly recommend you use a new gaskets - seal on the tap to avoid any leaks, leaks here are to dangerous and expensive.Hope this helps Quote
JoshTimmins Posted February 9, 2010 Author Posted February 9, 2010 Thanks guys, looks like tank is coming off on fridayy Josh Quote
