nman1 Posted February 17, 2010 Posted February 17, 2010 Sensible move there pal, "keep the skin your in", you`ll need (not compulsary) some good boots for ankle protection and either textile, leather or denim jeans with ec approved protection. Good luck with the test etc. Quote
Guest Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 I got Jacket, Trousers and a pair of Sidi boots all in for £130, thought i will be looking to replace the Jacket and trousers after spring, some bargains to be had. Quote
Si 2the Mon Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 The gear i've been eyeing up all comes to about £500 is there a large difference in quality between the cheaper stuff or is it just a small gap and paying for the name etc? Wouldn't mind saving some money and getting some bargains. Quote
cypek Posted February 24, 2010 Author Posted February 24, 2010 Well we all buy what we can afford and even cheap stuff is better than none Of course it is better to buy new and quality brand items as you can be sure they will protect you better than some old, cheap stuff. But in my opinion items are getting better with price rise only up to a certain point. I doubt £600 jacket would be any better than £300 good company jacket so I wouldn't waste my money on anything TOO expensive. I just for example can't understand price range of those Shoei helmets. How £600 helmet can be much better than £200 helmet?? Of course it may be a few grams lighter and made from some outer space material but come on... Its like difference between good MP3 player and Ipod, technically they are almost the same, even some players are less annoying than Ipods but APPLE sticker just adds 40% to the price...But thats only my personal opinion Quote
fazerboy Posted February 24, 2010 Posted February 24, 2010 si.....if you ever go to the bmf you will be able to get decent kit, haggle for it and get it for next to nowt compared to shop pricesi reckon for a good helmet/boots/2 piece leathers/gloves you should be able to get for £400 no more Quote
