Guest Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 as its the GSXF i'd suggest the clutch safety switch is playing up, do you have heated grips, these are larger than normal and stop the lever coming back as far as they would normally..take the connections off the clutch switch and join together with a piece of wire or a nail (tape it if needs be, dont wan't it to fall out and land near your wheels) and try again, if it fires straight of, the switch is causing the fault. softwarez Posted February 18, 2010 Author Posted February 18, 2010 Thanks for the response guys.Walney, where can I find the clutch safety switch? where is it located roughly? or look like? Thanks!p.s - If you don't know, I have a manual around somewhere, i'll dig it out and take a look! Thanks again guys. Guest Posted February 18, 2010 Posted February 18, 2010 underneath the clutch lever you'll see two wires and a small black/grey plastic strip, thats the switch stops you starting the bike without the clutch pulled in...my manual is on here in guides and manuals, same manual,..soz for the quality (fonecam) but had a rummage through spares box..switch has to move fully across to cause a connection, could be yours isn't Quote
softwarez Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 Didn't expect you to put pictures up! that's excellent of you though, thank you very much. The picture quality shows exactly what I need to look for anyway, so I will be doing that tomorrow.Again, thank you Quote
softwarez Posted February 19, 2010 Author Posted February 19, 2010 That was the problem Walney! Had a look at it today, took it apart and inspected it. Put it back together and gave the bolt which holds the clutch in a little bit of elbow grease and that was the trick! That bolt seemed to be a little loose and not make full contact with the switch. Thanks! Quote
