Guest Posted March 1, 2010 Posted March 1, 2010 hi my revs struggle about 4000 revs then it clears and climbs on ok it a gn125, it a new carb but choke cuts the engine out when cold starting ?? Quote
tony-1977 Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Sounds like it's running too rich. The choke should allow the engine to idle (fast, though), whilst cold. If it cuts out, then it's flooding. Quote
Petarded Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Yeah you could adjust the choke cable. If that doesn't fix it I had a similar issue (weak RPMs) with my 250 ninja and it turns out the cams were out of balance or something. Quote
JoshTimmins Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 i have a similar issue on my gpz500s.at 4000revs its like it dies, but it hits maybe 4300 and then its ok :/ noticed it the other day, other than that bike is fine, starts fine.if i remember only rly does it in 2nd gear too.. but that could just be me lol.Josh Quote
Guest Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 i get what you mean about fuel mix being too rich but shouldnt a new carb be factory set ?? Quote
Gamer Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 it is only carbs settingevery engine wears out different as so carb need to be adjusted for this engine only - new carb old engine do the maths - factory setting will work with new engine wrong carb setting and choke will not work as revs too Quote
