DynoJet Question

Recommended Posts

Hey all.

Just been out to clean my bike and spend some time with it working out whats what and what i need to do with it. One of my tasks was to change the Micron end can over to a standard pipe to hear the differance, whilst kneeling down i noticed the Micron and a Dynojet sticker on the lower fairing.

My question is how do i know if the bikes been Dynojetted or will i just know when i finally get to take it out, are the ZXR's renowned for a flat spot i could tell from. The other thing is the guy did say it runs rough around the 2-2.5k mk but quickly clears up over that and runs sweet to the limit. Should it have any rough spots if its been setup properly and should the Micron end can stay on?

Cheers all.

The dynojet mains have the letter DJ stamped alongside the jet size, a run on a dyno with exhaust gas analysis will show if its set up correctly, the flat spot could be tuned out by altering the jetting. Alternatively it could be wear of the needles causing a stutter.
